3. Icebergs are very large pieces of floating ice found in the Arctic.
(a) Why is an iceberg able float in water?
(b) The diagram below shows that a lump of plasticine sinks in water. When the same plasticine moulded into shape of a boat, it floats in water.
(i) By using the concept of density, explain why the plasticine that has been moulded can float in water.
(ii) State one application that uses the same principle as in (b) (i).
4. Read the passage.
When chemical from food or other substances enter the nose, they dissolve in the mucus and stimulate the sensory cells. Then the sensory cells send nervous impulses to the brain. The brain interprets the impulses and tells us the smell.

(b) Suggest, with explanation, how you can protect your nose and sense of smell.
(c) Mr. Hashim is working in a pain factory. As he works he smells the pungent paint.
