DESCRIPTION

ThePowerseatfamilyisanelectro-hydraulicallyoperatedrangeofgassafetyshut-offvalveswithultrahighflowratesandarangeofassociatedaccessories.Theirprimaryfunctionistheon-offcontroloflowpressurecombustiblegases,airandoil.Theymaybeusedforbothcontrolandsafetyshutoffpurposes.Thevalvesaresuitableforthethreefamiliesofcombustiblegasasfollows,1st,towngas;2nd,naturalgasand3rd,LiquefiedPetroleumGases.Theyaresuitableforoilwithaviscosityofupto200secondsRedwood.Thevalvesarenormallyclosed,i.e.energisetoopen,andareoperatedfromA.C.mainsat230or110volts.Electro-hydraulicoperationensuresasmooth,controlledopeningatlowspeedwhilstclosuretimeislessthan1sec.Powerseatsareavailableinconnectionsizesfrom1½”(DN40)to3”(DN80)screwed,andfromDN65(2½”)toDN250(10”)Flanged,therebycoveringanextremelywiderangeofcommercialandindustrialapplications.Highqualitysolenoidvalvesareavailabletocoversmallersizes.Valveconstructionconsistsofadiecastaluminiumbody(screwed)orcastiron(flanged),aremovablestainlesssteelstrainerandanactuatorhavingthevalveclosureheadasanintegralpart.Theactuatormayberemovedfromthebodyforservicingandaccesstothestrainerwithoutremovalofthebodyfromtheline.Theactuatorconsistsofapumpandmotor,areliefvalve,operatingcylinder,pistonandpushrod,valveheadandseals,hydraulicfluidandelectricalswitchgear.Whenthevalveisenergisedthereliefvalvecloses,themotorstartsandthepumpforcesfluidintothecylinderdrivingthevalveopen.Atthispointtheclosedpositionswitchcontacts

changestate.Whenthefullyopenpositionisreachedalimitswitch(adjustable)changesstate,switchesoffthepumpmotorandilluminatesanamberneonindicatoronthecasetoshowthatthevalveisfullyopen.Whereafactoryfittedoptionalopenpositionswitchisfittedthiswillalsochangestate.Thereliefvalveremainsclosedandwilldosountilpowerisremoved.Removalofpowercausesthereliefvalvetoopenandthesafetyshutoffvalvetoclose.Manualresetswitches,eitherintegralorremotemounting,areavailableasaccessoriesforonsitefitting.Whenwiredin,manualinterventionisrequiredtooperatethevalveaftermainsinterruption,i.e.afterapowercutorwhenthevalveisfirstenergised.Tofacilitatethis,the‘resetbutton’ismomentarilydepressedlatchingtheresetswitchinthe‘on’positionallowingthevalvetooperate.Additional features of the 200 and 250mm Powerseat

Thesevalvesfeatureamembranecoveredcontrolpanelontheactuator.UponenergisingthevalvearedLEDilluminatesonthecontrolpanelandremainsilluminatedwhilstpoweris‘on’tothevalve.WhilstthepumpisrunninganamberLEDonthecontrolpanelflashestoindicatethatthevalveisopening.Thisgoesoutwhenthevalveisfullyopenandisreplacedwithagreen‘open’LED.Thevalvesfeatureanintegral‘manualresetswitch’asstandardwhichcanbewiredoutatanytime.Operationoftheswitchisotherwiseidenticaltotheoptionalswitchesonthesmallervalves.

MODELS BC6683 TO BC6687Energisetoopenvalve,unscrewthefoursocketscrewsaroundthebodyneckandwithdrawactuator.Onnoaccountmustthesocketscrewsintheactuatorbaseplatebetouched.De-energiseandcarryoutcleaning.Iffittinganewactuatorisolatetheelectricalsupplyandreconnecttonewactuator.Energise,refitactuatortobodyandtightenthefourscrewsaroundbodynecktoretain.De-energiseandleaktest.

MODELS BC6689 TO BC66811Energisetoopenvalve,unscrewthe8hexagonboltsaroundactuatorflangeandwithdrawactuator.Deenergiseandcarryoutcleaning.Iffittinganewactuatorisolatetheelectricalsupplyandre-connecttonewactuator.Energise,refitactuatortobodyandtightentheeightboltsaroundactuatorflangetoatorqueof20Nm(14.75lbft)toretain.De-energiseandleaktest.
