This is the 8th year I have come to GAEL to tell you about SLDS
Why do I keep coming back?
• To gather feedback on how to make the system better for you
• To make sure you know the platform is not going away - you can rely on it
• To make sure you know what the latest updates are as we are constantly adding new features

So we partnered with our university system to leverage their statewide network called Peachnet to give every school 100 megabytes of connectivity funded entirely by the state
Next, principals requested our assistance with tracking their graduates into postsecondary so we developed the High School Feedback Report

Key Points about Georgia’s SLDS
1. It’s Voluntary - no one has to use SLDS
2. It’s Free - completely funded by the state
3. It runs on top of a robust network that is also free to districts
4. Training is free and provided face to face to accommodate school schedules
5. It is integrated with the districts student information system so no additional IDs or passwords are required to access the SLDS
6. Priorities for enhancements are set by the governance team which is comprise of district folks
7. It has all been developed in house so is designed for and owned by Georgia.
