What is Nazarbayev University status?
1. NU was established by special legislation in 2010 with a revision in 2012. On the Status of “Nazarbayev University”, “Nazarbayev Intellectual
schools” and “Nazarbayev Fund.”
2. We are an autonomous educational organization.
3. We are exempt from Kazakhstan's equivalent to accreditation (attestation) since we are at the vanguard of reforming educational policy in Kazakhstan, including the accreditation process.
4. We are recognized through legislation by the government of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and Science.
5. We are recognized as the leading university in Kazakhstan. All students are on full scholarships from the KZ government.
6. The Chair of our Supreme Board is the President of the Republic.
