Eve adds to God’s directions. God said not to eat it and Eve add that they can’t even touch it. We are often tempted to add to, take away from or change to God’s instructions. The devil uses the idea that God is spoiling the fun. He says they won’t die but they will be like God. He causes them to doubt God and then make them jealous and want to be like God. The devil isn’t lying. They would know good and evil (which they didn’t know until this point).

They know they are naked, they begin to fear God and try to hide from him. They start blaming eachother. The punishment is life is going to get hard for everyone. Working hard, difficulty in child bearing etc. But there is the promise of a plan to send Jesus who would conquer sin
