THE BEGINNING
Titanic was built at a shipyard
in Belfast, Ireland in 1909.
It took 3 years to complete.
It was built by Harland &
Wolff, shipbuilders For White
Star Line.
2000 steel plates held together
by 3 million rivets, formed the
hull.

Titanic’s first and only voyage departed from South Hampton, England on
April 10,1912. With a projected arrival in New York City on April 17, 1912,
She departed with 2200 passengers and crew, with only lifeboats for 1178.
On April 18,1912, The Carpathia arrives in New York with the survivors of Titanic
