Choosing well-organized factories at Toppoint is a must!. There are big differences between factories that produce powerbanks, Something Jürgen experienced during his trip to China.

Jürgen Bruil, has been employed since 1995 at Toppoint BV. He has together with his partner two children aged 5 & 7, his hobbies are traveling (preferably overseas) and exploring the open road on his motorbike. He started at Toppoint in retail and has since worked his way up to becoming the Purchasing manager for the trading products. Last month he visited China, due to the booming business in Powerbanks, there is a price war which also lead to several accidents. Powerbanks that have defects are dangerous, so it’s important to take responsibility. At Toppoint people choose a good product, therefore we try to ensure that risks are dramatically minimised in every way possible.

Jürgen has visited 8 factories, ranging from 25 to 300 workers. The differences are huge, in some factories he saw powerbanks put together as if they are 25ct

flashlights. Cluttered factories where working conditions are below standard and quality is unknown. Fortunately there are other ways; Toppoint has chosen two factories where they have an extensive quality control checks. A 100% operational check of the incoming goods (battery, printing plates etc..) during production 100% of the semi-finished products are checked and after assembly they are checked again, these checks involve overcharge / short circuit protection / over-discharge.

It is also Important to mention that the constancy of the power is also checked, this is important for the ‘life’ of the article. If the power fluctuates too much, this can affect the longevity of a connected device. An essential quality aspect are the batteries. All batteries used by Toppoint are newly produced and are individually tested, This may sound normal to us, but in reality this is not something that happens very often in all factories. Toppoint likes to build a long-term relationship with a network of suppliers. In the Shanghai office where Toppoint have clear inspections, we have personnel that are there for the CSR auditing, they organise the inspections regularly and ensure that all data is always available to Jürgen and his team.

Toppoint is proud to say that we have found quality factories that supply safe products at a good price for the current market. All checks go through the New Wave Group who work in conjunction with BSCI. Factories that do not meet this criteria do not supply products for Toppoint.

According to Jürgen, guarantees are impossible! however, we at Toppoint do everything in our power to ensure that the powerbanks are produced in a safe manner, which ensures the quality and price of the powerbank.

For the best results we advise you to choose a powerbank with equal or larger capacity than your device. You can find the devices capacity on the battery or in the instruction manual. We recommend you use an output of at least 2,1A to charge your tablet.

ExampleA 3500mAh powerbank can deliver 3500mA during 1 hour. It depends on the input as to how fast you can charge the powerbank. The charging time of your device depends on the output of the powerbank. In the table on this page you can see how many times you can charge an average tablet or smartphone with the indicated mAh. With a 4000mAh powerbank you can charge your tablet once for more than 50% (when the tablet battery is empty). With the same powerbank you can charge your smartphone one and a half times. Step 1Incoming material inspected based on international quality standards. Batteries which are used are first class new batteries, produced per order. The batteries are marked with a serial number so the production can be traced. The PCB is produced in-house and the quality can be guaranteed 100%. Before assembly, 10% of the batteries are tested on capacity and power.

Step 2100% QC on the PCB with the assembled components. Welding is checked 1 by 1 and function tests are done. Components with a defect can cause inconsistence power input and output which can damage your mobile device. 100% impedance test: This is crucial because an unsafe battery can explode or catch fire.

Step 3The battery will be assembled to the PCB and will be checked 100% on safety and performance.

Step 4The final item will be assembled.

Step 5The final item will be checked on the following points: capacity, short circuit protection, input & output and voltage stability. Also the charge and discharge capacity will be checked as well as the overcharge and over-discharge protection.

Step 6In the next quality control step the function test will be done. The item will be packed together with the charging cables and finally checked based on international quality standards.

Product safety is an important topic within Toppoint. During our factory selection we noticed that a lot of

powerbank factories produce unsafe powerbanks. Using safe components, especially for powerbanks, and a

thorough quality inspection before, during and after production is essential. Unsafe powerbanks are

dangerous and can explode, spontaneously catch fire, don’t work or can damage your mobile device.

Together with our factories we have set up production procedures see below in which we mention which

QC steps are taken. The factories are BSCI certified.
