26. Inserting videos is a little complex but a wonderful tool for
both teaching assistant presentations and student based
webquests.
You can insert a link to a web video do this using your hyperlink
option.
You can also insert the video straight into your
presentation!
You are still using the Insert tab for this.At the far right of the
Ribbon you will see the group Media Clips.
*If you insert a video into your presentation you have to make sure
you have the video saved on your computer/flash drive first.

An Inserted Video
An example of an inserted video .You will need to click the video
to begin watching.
28. A fun new tool with 07 PowerPoint!!I LOVE it!In the past when
you wanted to narrate your presentation you had to record your
voice through another program and then insert the sound.Microsoft
has made it so easy now!
On the Slide Show Tab you will see a group called Set Up.To narrate
your presentation chose Record Narration.
*You will need a microphone to do this. Some computers have a built
in microphone or you will need one that is plugged into your
computer!
Adding Voice
29. This option will only be used if you want your presentation to
advance on its own without your help. This is good just for
previewing.I dont recommend using this when developing a teaching
assistant tool or even a student webquest.
You will be on the Slide Show Tab chose Rehearse timings, etc.Just
follow the steps given.
Timing your presentation
30. The basics of PowerPoint are at your fingertips. Now when will
you use it?
- PowerPoint can be an awesome teaching assistant.Create a PowerPoint to bullet important parts of a lesson. You can make that available to your students on your school website or by printing.A good note taking tool.It can save you from having to write notes on the board and having some say they cant read your writing!
31. Student based webquests:develop a guided lesson that
students can follow on their own computer!Youre READY!
32. Before our next lesson:
- Chose a topic that you will be discussing with your class
33. If you will be using any videos, have them ready. 34. If you
will be using websites, have those addresses readily available.Next
