Poverty - is a major cause of social tensions andthreatens to divide a nation because of the issue of inequalities (income inequality). This happens when wealth in a country is poorly distributed among its citizens. In other words, when a tiny minority has all the money.

Poverty-means inability to secure the minimum consumption requirements for life, health and efficiency on account of insufficient income or property. These requirements include minimum human needs in respect of food, clothing, housing, education and health.

Povertyis the inability of getting choices and opportunities.is lack of basic capacity to participate effectively in society.means not having enough to feed and clothe a family, not having a school or clinic to go to, not having the land on which to grow ones food or a job to earn ones living, not having access to credit. means susceptibility to violence, and it often implies living in marginal or fragile environments, without access to clean water or sanitation. -United Nations
