February 2000 to March 2000 Short-term consultant, IFDC/ ATDP, an USAID project Major Responsibility • Training program of hatchery owner, hatchery operators and parent stock farm managers. Twenty parent stock farm and hatchery owners were

participated in on farm training program. Among these twenty participants five entrepreneurs and their staffs have been trained. The on-farm training was conducted for six days on parent stock farm and hatchery management, bio-security, nutrition, health care, and hatchery operation. Entrepreneurs were also trained to have good quality and maximum numbers of eggs in each hatch.

June 1996 to February 2001 Consultant, Quality Feeds Ltd. Major Responsibility: Provide technical support and poultry health consultancy to different farms who use poultry feed of Quality feeds Ltd. February 2001 to till date Poultry Consultant, ATDP-II Major Responsibility:

• Completed the initial sub sector survey as presented in the accompanying Scope of Work. This survey is crucial to providing initial baseline information that will be needed for identifying potential client opportunities, as well as baseline data for monitoring and evaluation

• Prepare a detailed annual work plan with budgets and report for the region, Scopes of Work (SOW) for specialized technical assistance from experts available in Bangladesh and abroad

• Identify potential clients for ATDP-II assistance through the survey results, networking, referrals, and “ walk-ins”

• To determine whether they qualify for assistance; the consultant will use

• Organized training programs on ‘Commercial Farm Management’ in collaboration with Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Gazipur Poultry owners Association.

• Organized training program on ‘Hatchery and Breeder Farm Management’ in collaboration with Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Also organized two training program on ‘Hatchery and Breeder Farm Management’ in abroad.

• Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR) and Scope of Works (SOW) for national and expatriate consultants hired to assist entrepreneurs.

• Organize national level workshops, seminars, and conferences to create awareness among the entrepreneurs, government officials, and donor agencies, about potential of the sector

• Liaison with high-level government officials, policy makers, donor agencies, different local, national and international NGO’s and organizations.

• Study on an Assessment of the Poultry Broiler Demand in Dhaka city, in April 2002. The study was conducted by Dr. Scott Thomas, Economist and Dr. Golam Morshed, Poultry Consultant of ATDP-II/The Louis Berger Group.

• The Greater Khulna Market for Day Old Chicks and Poultry Feed Feasibility Study was conducted by Dr. Golam Morshed, Poultry Consultant and Tara C. Kearney of ATDP-II/The Louis Berger Group.
