During potty training, parents often get frustrated about their children being

reluctant about this process. What usually happens is that they give in to the

outside pressure and try to fit into a norm that may or may not apply to their

children.

This ruins the desire of their child to actually start potty-training and they

become resistant day by day. If you have been one of the parents who look

Making your child ready for potty training is one

you are trying to teach them is another. This can turn

out to be a very difficult phase of your life. Though

for online “potty training how to” and believe that it could be anyway useful

to them, then please stop doing so immediately.

A generic potty training plan would not be helping your child in any way. It

would be putting undue pressure on him to learn to use the toilet. You need

some methods that can help you in doing the same.

Below, I would like to share with you some strategies on potty training for the

children.

Potty Training Do’s

Bribing works!

It does. All you have to do is give them the right bribes.

If you think that M&Ms are a great bribe, then you may be wrong. They

are good for some occasional delicacies only.

The real bribe should be a longer walk in the park, a tour on your

shoulders or may an extra hour of playtime.

Children constantly need love and attention from their parents and you

might want to give them just that.

Make a few potty games.

Participate with your child in the game and see how they learn to use

the toilet fast.

One of the games can be a small Lego bricks game. One who would

complete the game first would have to use the toilet or make someone

else do the same.

Use your imagination and try to figure out what you can do. The rule of

thumb is, make it fun!

Make a parent who is loved more by the child to do the potty

training.

It always works. Children are naturally inclined more towards one of

the parents and you can use it to your advantage to accomplish the

three day potty training program successfully.

The parent could be your mum! If you love how your mum potty trained

you when you were a baby, she will be the best candidate! Don’t forget

also to learn from her when she is training your child!

Praise the child whenever he uses the toilet.

To a child, praising from his parents means so much to him, and this

is where self-confidence built strongly to the baby.

This praise can come in the form of a big round of appreciation in front

of the other parents or people who frequent your house. This would

boost the child’s self-esteem and they might want to do even better the

next time.

It can also a praise when he has completed a small accomplishment.

A small praise costs you nothing but it is a big thing to your child.

Statistics show babies grown from praises of their parents have better

brain development compared to babies who do not. And there are so

much more benefits of praising your child that I can’t list down all here.

In short, PRAISE. Don’t be stingy to praise. It works very well!

Go cold turkey.

If nothing else is working with the child, be a brave heart and make

them wear the big boy/girl underwear.

You would obviously have to smell it again and again that day, but be

persistent and tell the child that they need to use the toilet. They would

do so ultimately. It would only take a day’s hard work.

Potty Training Don’ts

Don’t get frustrated.

Children learn things at their own speed and you don’t have to believe

that they would learn any faster because they are little children. Even

if you bring a toilet model that sings when peed upon, your child would

learn at his own speed.

Therefore, be very patient and let him learn on his own.

Don’t bash your child for not having learnt potty training in 3 days.

This would demotivate him and he might be scared, shy or reluctant

for the next time on, making it more difficult for you to make any efforts.

Many parents lose their calm and often shout at the child or even scold

them for not having done it right? Do you think it would work with the

child or with anyone else? Of course not. Don’t let it go towards the

negative side.

Don’t ever put a deadline or a start line on when to start and stop

training your child.

They are not machines to work upon. You must focus on the fact that

children wish to be handled with care.

Therefore, take your time. When you child starts showing the signs of

potty training like disliking the potty and more, you must go ahead with

some pre-potty training and finally the potty training in 3 days.

This would be a good step to follow. Don’t expect instant results and

learn to take it slow. This would be very helpful for the child.

Conclusion

Potty training should be a fun exercise for your child. It should not be a

frustrated, irritated or loosing temper time between you and your child.

Therefore, doing it a proper way is important and it is possible to complete

the training within 3 days. There are a lot of cases can be done in 2 days.

There is a phrase tells the secret of successful potty training “Happy parents

train happy children”. If you are not happy in what you are doing, chances

are your child will not want to learn from you.

Hence, be patient, keep trying and make it fun!
