The Postgraduate Scheme provides professionals in Medical Imaging, Radiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Science, Health Technology as well as others interested in health technology, with the opportunity to develop advanced levels of knowledge and skills.The Postgraduate Scheme enables a flexible programme of study for students to determine their own pace of study within five years after first registration.Students may select their initial preference for a programme area of study at the time of application. A specific award title will be given to an individual specialist area if the requirements for such award are satisfied:
• MSc in Medical Imaging and Radiation Science (MScMIRS)• MSc in Medical Laboratory Science (MScMLS)
Apart from the award of MScMIRS / MScMLS, students can choose to graduate with one of the following specialisms instead:
• MSc in Medical Laboratory Science (Molecular Diagnostics) • MSc Medical Imaging & Radiation Science (Computed Tomography) • MSc Medical Imaging & Radiation Science (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) • MSc Medical Imaging & Radiation Science (Ultrasonography)
Compulsory Subject• Research Methods & BiostatisticsDissertation• Dissertation (compulsory for MLS award and any specialism)

MSc in Medical Laboratory Science (30 credits) • 2 compulsory subjects (6 credits)• Dissertation (9 credits)• 3 core subjects (9 credits)• 2 elective subjects (6 credits)
To be eligible for the specialism concerned, students should complete 2 compulsory subjects (6 credits), a dissertation (9 credits) related to that specialism, 4 specialty subjects (12 credits) and 1 elective subject (3 credits)MSc in Medical Imaging and Radiation Science (30 credits)

To be eligible for the specialism concerned, students should complete 2 compulsory subjects (6 credits) a dissertation (9 credits) related to that specialism, a specialty subject (3 credits), a Clinical Practicum (3 credits) and 3 elective subjects (9 credits)

Medical Imaging and Radiation ScienceA Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or a related discipline from a recognised institution.Relevant post-qualification work experience is preferred.
Medical Laboratory ScienceA Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science from PolyU or a recognised institution. Other qualifications may be considered on an individual basis.Relevant post-qualification work experience is preferred.
