Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance and develop your professional practice?Develop your practice of professional supervision. The first course, Foundations of Supervision, introduces you to a range of theories and approaches, including kaupapa Māori. The second course, Developing Supervision Practice, enables you to apply knowledge and skills in a supervisory relationship.

Courses within the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision will also cross credit as ‘options’ in either the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice (PGDPP) or the Master of Professional Practice (MPP), should you wish to continue with postgraduate study.

TIMETABLEYour study time will be made up of contact time (class times, tutorials, industry-based learning) and non-contact time (your own individual study time, online learning).

Contact TimeOn-campus classes are usually scheduled between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

PGPS8.01 has four two-day face-to-face blocks. PGPS8.02 has three two-day face-to-face blocks.

Non-Contact TimeYou should plan to spend approximately 20 hours of study per course per week including scheduled classroom time.

ENTRY CRITERIA ▶ Undergraduate degree ▶ Two years work experience relevant to

professional supervision ▶ Access to colleagues with whom to engage

in the role of supervisor

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTApplicants from countries in which English is not the primary spoken language must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include:

▶ Approved scores on IELTS tests, namely an Academic score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6 (or accepted international equivalents) OR

▶ NCEA Level 3 University Entrance

BLENDED LEARNINGLecturers are available to students via the EIT on-line courses sites, virtual classrooms, video conference, skype and face-to-face classes.

ASSESSMENTSInclude online activities, written assignments, presentation, portfolio of supervision practice.

TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTIf you know how to send an email and access sites on the internet, you will have the basic skill needed to participate in blended activities. We will ensure you receive all support necessary to attain the skills you will need.

Learning between the face-to-face wānanga will be delivered online. You can either work from home or use EIT's facilities. If working from home you will require the following:

▶ Computer with broadband internet access (dial up access is not recommended)

▶ Any operating system (preferably less than five years old and with sound)

▶ Software - Microsoft Office or similar, Adobe Acrobat reader, Adobe flash player, modern internet browser such as Firefox or Chrome

▶ Extras - USB stick (4gb recommended) and headset with microphone may be required for some courses

Scholarships and GrantsScholarships and grants make life easier by helping to cover your fees, other costs and living expenses while you study. You don’t always need to be an academic high-flyer to qualify.

EIT has a long list of scholarships for which you can apply. So if you would like to get financial help with your study, take a look at our website to see what’s available. Student Services LevyThe Student Services Levy is a compulsory non-tuition fee that is charged to students enrolled at EIT. The levy is to contribute to the provision of quality student services that support learning. The funds received by EIT from the levy are ring-fenced, meaning they can only be spent on student services.

Student Loans and AllowancesStudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development. Apply well before your programme begins (even if you haven't been accepted yet) so you'll be ready to get your payments when you need them most. Check out studylink.govt.nz or phone 0800 88 99 00. A Student Allowance is a weekly payment to help you with living expenses. It doesn't have to be paid back. A Student Loan is made up of three parts – compulsory fees, course-related costs and living costs. You have to pay these back.

STEP 2If you apply online you will be sent a form to check, sign and return to EIT along with any required supporting documents.

If you are applying by paper enrolment form, you will need to complete this and send back to EIT with any required supporting documents.

STEP 3You will receive an acceptance letter with programme information including your start date.

You may also receive course selection forms. You need to complete these quickly and return them to us so we can finalise your enrolment. If you do not send these back to us we are not able to give StudyLink the information they need to finalise your student finance.

STEP 4You will receive an invoice with payment details.

You must arrange for full payment of your enrolment fees before the start of your programme.
