UCD process for mobile design

ObservationRecordingCombining a webcam and Camtasia wasn't ideal for further analysis of the user tests. Specific recording settings need to be defined for mobile user testing.

this task is much more difficult when testing with a mobile device. Only the facilitator was able to observe what the user was doing and even for him / her it was difficult to follow all the steps.

Paper prototypeMost of our users didn't own a smart-phone and, as a consequence, the paper prototype was too far away from what they are used to interact with. We felt it didn't provide us with realistic results.

We started with paper and pencil prototypes, moved on to electronic mockups with Balsamiq and finished with high fidelity paper prototypes.

We seek for a new way to capture all the testing process. This process consist of: recording facial gestures and voice and interaction with the devices.

Our goal was to provide a better way to access messages, forums or debates with mobile devices to promote these activities during commutes.
