Target Audience

• From the poster it is visible that it would attract males. This is because the two characters on the poster are males.

• It would also attract people who like to watch thriller films as the poster looks dark and gloomy which is a convention of a thriller film.

• The film may be targeted at males who are 18+

Layout

• The layout of the poster is split into three sections vertically. One section is for Brad Pitt the middle section are the seven words and the third section is for Morgan Freeman.

• This may connote that the sins are causing a separation between the characters or that they both share these sins which is why they are between them.

Background

• The background looks scratched and rugged. It is a dull brown colour. The characters faces almost blend right into the background and only their faces are visible.

• The dull use of background allows the film title to stand out in crisp white. It also allows the characters names to be more visible which may be the selling point of the film itself.

Image• The image used is very serious as you can tell by the

expressions on the characters faces. One looks angry whereas the other looks lost and frightened.

• The seven words in between the images of the characters are easily seen and the red slashes across the words could connote danger and mystery as this is what the colour suggests and the words are negative too.

• The lighting is dark all around the poster however most of the light is on the characters faces. This may be to show that they are the main characters which is why they have the spotlight and to show that they may be important figures in the film.
