Maverick Sabre- Lonely Are The Brave After research into

the soul/indie/rap industry we discovered that majority of their songs are based around personal experiences and personal feelings.

Throughout most of his albums covers and posters Maverick Sabre has used the same font and layout. This effect suggests that Maverick Sabre is trying to make his name in a trademark that his fans and other people can easily recognise and relate to.

Maverick Sabre- Lonely Are The Brave

The title of his latest album ‘Lonely Are The Brave’ also supports our research and suggests that the album could consist of personal experiences and personal feelings.

Majority of the website is dark which could reflect the dark lyrics and experiences that Maverick Sabre sings about and refers to in his songs.

Maverick Sabre- Lonely Are The Brave

The artist is represented as traditional soul/indie artist as he appears emotional reflecting personal experiences. However this is a modern representation of men as the artist is portrayed as emotional and despondent and traditionally men as portrayed by the media as emotionless.

Maverick Sabre- Travelling Man

The passports within the poster shot are used to show his travelling past. There are two passports in the poster one British and one Irish. The fact that Maverick Sabre has two different passports not only reflects his travelling past but a struggle with his personal identity.

Maverick Sabre- Travelling Man

This poster is aimed to tell a story of Maverick Sabre’s early life. The poster also indicates that Maverick Sabre has few possessions and that he doesn’t really belong anywhere. The idea that Maverick Sabre doesn’t belong anywhere is reinforced through the title of the album and the passports.

Maverick Sabre- Travelling Man

Maverick Sabre was born in London and then moved to Ireland when he was 4 years old. After a successful collaboration with Plan B on his single ‘Jungle’ Maverick Sabre moved back to London. Maverick Sabre moved back to London to develop his music career.

Starting out as young music artist would have been hard for Maverick Sabre. The fact that a bottle of Jack Daniels (depressant) suggests that Maverick Sabre could be try to numb his pain or forget personal experiences/feelings.

Plan BSimilar to Maverick Sabre majority of the poster is dark which could reflect the dark lyrics and experiences that Plan B sings about and refers to in his songs.

The image of the artist supports our research as the artist looks despondent and emotional reflecting his inner feelings.

Plan BMaverick Sabre is classed under three genres rap/soul/indie. These genres suggest that Plan B is an urban artist. This is reinforced through other posters of Plan B in urban locations.

The direct address given by Plan B suggests he is trying to create a personal connection with his audience.

The Streets

I can only make one comparison with The Streets poster. The poster is taken in an urban location which is similar to the one used in the Plan B and Maverick Sabre posters.

The artist is represented as traditional soul/indie artist as he appears emotional reflecting personal experiences. However this is a modern representation of men as the artist is portrayed as emotional and despondent and traditionally men as portrayed by the media as emotionless.
