Gimnazjum nr 12 (POLAND) greets pupils from other

Let’s begin by doingLet’s begin by doing is a great project that

makes my pupils think constructively of other European cultures and their input in becoming a global village. We are proud to be a part of this. Exchanging postcards is a fabulous way to „touch”, experience and discover things that were once unachievable.

We have already gathered about 30 postcards from different countries: Germany, Greece, Turkey, Slovakia, Iceland, Greece and Spain. They are amazing

I have asked my pupils to write about the postcards they enjoyed most and here are the results…

Martyna and Wiola (15)We received postcards from a lot of

countries. We love all of them!!!The best ones for us were those from

Iceland and Turkey (from Burak)We’ve found out that in Iceland

children get gifts every night between 11-24 December. There are 13 presents in total, which is very cool, but in Poland we can’t afford it because there is crisis (we are poor ).

We also got interested in Burak’s card (Turkey). He wrote that they wear uniforms. We don’t, but we think it’s cool. „Burak” in the Polish language means a red vegetable. It’s cute!

Thank you for your postcards guys!

Ewelina and Michalina (15) Thank you for your

postcards. We’ve learnt a lot from them. The best postcard for us was the one from Germany. It was Debora’s postcard. We learnt that Hamburg is one of the most attractive business locations in northern Europe. We also found out that Germans celebrate Christmas too, like the Polish

Zbyl, Rysiu and Patryk (15)

Rysiu:Thanks for your postcards. I read

and learnt a lot. The best postcard for me was the one from Iceland. The card was about polar aurora. I’m very interested in geography so this topic suits me very well. I noticed that Iceland is a very beautiful country with many incredible things like volcanoes, hot springs and very nice people. I’m waiting for your postcards XOXO

Patryk and ZbylThe best postcard for us was the

one from Maria who lives in Greece. The population of Greece is 11.768.640 and there are lots of fantastic monuments! We learnt that first Greek constitution was signed in 1822. We want to go there!
