Portugal is known for its good food and drink. Concerning food we are famous for fresh fish dishes prepared in many ways (grilled, roasted) and the fresh shellfish. Also the various meat dishes contribute to this good report. About the wines we have one of the oldest and famous wines – Port Wine, but we are also famous for our very good red wines.

Our biggest celebrations are Christmas , Easter and Carnival .Christmas is celebrated on the eve night, Christmas eve, and on the 25th. The Christmas night is celebrated in familiar environment at dinner with special dishes. Depending on the region, the baked codfish with potatoes, octopus and turkey are the favorites. Typical sweets are also part of the dinner. In the end of the dinner menu families exchange gifts.Many families attend midnight mass at 0h00 .

Carnival is also celebrated in many cities of Portugal . Typical party where people fantasize with masks and normally there is a carnival privateering .

Easter is also celebrated in Portugal , a country of great Catholic tradition .
