Course Objectives:At the end of this course participants:

1. Will understand patient selection for sphincter preserving operations in low rectal cancer

2. Will know the technical options for surgical treatment of low rectal cancer

3. Will gain the knowledge of current clinical criteria for high-risk stage II colorectal cancer

4. Will know the role and potential complications of preoperative chemoradiotherapy in the management of rectal cancer

5. Will understand potential issues associated with delayed radiation

6. Will understand potential implications for therapy in patients with microsatellite unstable tumors

7. Will understand the potential role of multigene profiles in risk stratification in patients with colorectal cancer
