i am proficient in autocad, rhinoceros, v-ray for rhino, illustrator, photoshop, indesign.

i am interested in breaking down; fragmenting; questioning what a space can be and what an

architecture can do. especially intrigued by the scalability of architecture, I am drawn to urban projects

and theory while still realizing that the smallest constructs and the most underlying systems can have the

greatest impact. interests in urban affairs and strategy lead into an innate predilection for landscape

systems, architectures of change and design as social activism: designing integrated, system-ic/-atic

communities which respond to and promote certain social positives.

this case study on the ventolera winery in leyda, chile analyzed the building’s architectural response to the process of vinification and also the local climate, specifically cool sea breezes. Situated on a hillside, the building is oriented to take advantage of, and use the sea-breezes as a cooling device, and by keeping the building open, can allow the environment to permeate the entire process of the winemaking.

storm king artist in residencethe storm king art center and artist in residence aims to realign values on-site, in the treatment of future works produced by the artist and in the perception of the visitors who pass through this landscape intervention. direct immersion into the landscape was chosen as a tactic to display the heaviness of the grounds and the power of the ecologies on-site. As one moves through the center one learns more of the artist as one reconciles the ecological corridor running between the bands of program. One must feel the connection to the earth before that which is made.

jersey city boys and girls cluba community center and a school, the jersey city boys and girls club sought to connect the two disparate sides of the site by creating a continuous landscape intervention in the form of a com-munity garden. the choice to inscribe the landscape with the “pro-activity” of the community working together creates an emergent landscape, evolving and thriving with the community surrounding it. the boys and girls club nestles itself into the system of garden spaces, rising from the ground as part of the process. spaces for weekend markets and trellised courtyards create a hardscape which continuously refers to the gardens and landscaped surrounds

10wilson ave pre-k _ 8 schoolthis school reexamines the spatial potentials of education and attempts to bolster a surrounding urban renaissance. by reevaluating educational programs based on size of student group and by infusing the project with an open-plan, self-directed curriculum, the spaces became a free-flowing system of interconnected open spaces, divided per “house” and located on a central learning street. a system of bearing walls responded to use, space, directionality, continuity, and passive energy.
