My favorite memories are the theater productions I have done. They were all so much fun and will be a part of SKS that I will never forget.

I am grateful to SKS for all the years of friendships, the small classes, the great teachers, the wonderful campus, athletics every day, walks in Black Rock Forest, school dances, and the ability to grow up and learn.

Find a rich variety of competitive and club sports that suit your interests: soccer, crew, cross country, volleyball, mountain biking, sailing, outdoor adventure (hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, skiing/snowboarding), basketball, wrestling, fencing, lacrosse, softball, tennis and golf. Unlike larger schools where some students may “warm the bench” while the strongest players take the field, everyone plays at The Storm King School.

Weekends are filled with a tempting

array of activities: sports competitions,

coffee houses, dances, bonfires, and board game nights. Each

weekend, there are at least five

trips: shopping, movies, a cultural

event, community service, and outdoor

adventure. Spend time in the Student

Center and climb our bouldering wall!

Fall 2012

Athletic Schedule

Athletic PhilosophyAt The Storm King School, sound minds and sound bodies belong together. Our beautiful mountain setting provides the backdrop for a community promoting wellness and fitness.

Since we offer a variety of sports including volleyball, golf, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, softball, basketball, tennis, and cross-country, our students are sure to find a sport they enjoy!

Good sportsmanship is at the heart of the SKS athletic program — playing our best, with honesty, courtesy and respect for our teammates and opponents: a victory without honor is a hollow victory indeed. Good conduct and the integrity of performance are values we nurture on the mountain.

At The Storm King School, we know that accomplishments made on the playing field open the way to success in all areas of life.

EEro SaarinEn: Shaping thE FuturE Nov 10 to JaN 31

The first retrospective of the architect whose career was one of the most prolific, unorthodox, and controversial in the history of

20th-century architecture. Like Russel Wright, the younger Saarinen was unabashedly theatrical, capturing

the aspirations and values of postwar America. From the TWA Terminal at JFK Airport and the

St. Louis Gateway Arch to the Pedestal Chair for Knoll, Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) created some of the most potent expressions of American identity after World War II.

Enjoy an outstanding international exhibition exploring Saarinen’s career from the 1930s through the early 1960s in a festive atmosphere of celebration for its curator, Russel Wright Award Honoree, Donald Albrecht.
