DESCRIPTION

A look at my most recent work.

TRANSCRIPT

Stephanie Weise

Hello there.

I am a recent graduate from the University of the West of England, and since then have been keeping busy working in a variety of freelance opportunities, from working inoffice at the UWE Students’ Union, designing CD packaging, to art-directing a children’s book.

Consequently, my portfolio is wide and varied in both style and media. I have the ability to work competently within print boundaries and all that’s concerned with that, having spent a lot of time at university self-publishing and binding my own work.

I’m adept at translating printed outcomes into web outcomes (and vice-versa), often having to consider how the identity and message will translate across all areas. This is something I have become accustomed to during my time working for the UWE Students’ Union, also heightening my experience of communicating with clients and students’ alike. I also have experience in web-design, having designed and created my own personal website.

At the heart of my work and the way in which I work best is by considering the positive social implications design can have on people. I produced the most interesting work by gathering my own content and really getting involved in the subject.

I’m always willing to try new things, am constantly curious and put the utmost thought into every endeavour, which I hope is clear.

Please do get in touch if you require any further information, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Many thanks,Stephanie Weise

This publication maps my meetings and conversations with friends and new friends alike, in my endeavour to understand the people that we usually hear less of. All conversations happened on a one-to-one basis— usually with a warm drink and a dictaphone on the table.

Imagery created through dismantling a phone, a laptop, a keyboard and an internet router.

How to ConnectVideo (inc. filming and editing) & packaging—

After looking into the problems people face during everyday communication, it brought me to thinking about how we often take the act of small talk for granted, for it’s not always an easy thing. This video breaks it down and demonstrates how this can often feel like ‘acting’ for a lot of people (myself and my friend Zak included).

Women in SportNewspaper & poster Series—

With the starting point of ‘Protest!’ chosen from 2014’s ISTD briefs, I started looking into gendered inequality and the problem of women’s reluctance to participate in sport. This is part of the bigger problem that surrounds the representation of women, and this newspaper looks at both the inspiring and the negative aspects of sporting women.
