We' l l d iscuss the model/ar t ist col laborat ive process f rom both s ides—how an ar t ist can direc t a model and how a model can be a par t of the creat ive process in return. We' l l d iscuss posing, use of props and other ideas that t ransform the process f rom just " tak ing pic tures" to a creat ive, col laborat ive endeavor.

Come join us for d iscuss ion on how models and ar t ists can work together to create great works, encompassing the whole process f rom f inding models, to sett ing up for photographs, and costuming models to get the looks you want . We' l l do a bas ic model ing sess ion to demonstrate the bas ics of draping and pinning, posing, l ight ing for photographs and more. This workshop is des igned for both ar t ists and models.

COSTUMING ON THE FLY (CHEAP, CREATIVE, & EFFEC TIVE) (Sarah McGinnis)

Costuming for a photo sess ion doesn' t have to cost a bundle! We' l l d iscuss where to f ind fabr ic , cheap i tems, and other not ions, as wel l as new ways to use what you a l ready have ly ing around. With a few pins, a few pieces of r ibbon, and some creat iv i t y, you' l l be amazed at what you can do.

MAKEUP: WHAT DOES IT DO, HOW TO USE IT EFFEC TIVELY, & WHEN DO YOU NEED IT (Sarah McGinnis & Jul ia Johnson)

We' l l d iscuss bas ic makeup for model ing (contour ing, colors, appl icat ion techniques) for photographs and sketching, as wel l as us ing basic make -up to enhance or create a charac ter look . Jul ia wi l l a lso be demonstrat ing a more complex piece on one or more of our models that wi l l be paired with an on-the spot costume creat ion which wi l l be avai lable for photographs af ter the ta lk .

He becomes then, not only a master stor y-te l ler and a father of h igh fantasy, but a teacher of the t rue way of happiness and ful f i l lment . Join Fr. John R apisarda, a Cathol ic pr iest of the Archdiocese of Balt imore, to learn f rom Tolk ien, a master wr i ter and teacher. We wi l l explore Tolk ien's v iew of fantasy and mythology, and the beaut y and truth found in T h e S i l m a r i l l i o n , T h e H o b b i t , and T h e Lo r d o f t h e R i n g s , as wel l as Tolk ien's letters and non-f ic t ion works. From this , we wi l l look at a par t of the great miss ion of the imaginat ive real ist ar t ist : to invite the rest of us into the mythological wor ld, inspir ing and motivat ing us to reach our fu l l potent ia l .
