Daylight analysis Insolation analysis

SUMMER

The tents protect the patio from the sun overheating, and the

presence of vegetation help to cool down the natural ventila-

tion that comes inside the class. The presence of openings on

all sides ensures the correct illumination of the classes and the

expulsion of the exousted air through window due to cross

ventilation, according to the season s prevailing wind direction.

The presence of wood mashrabiya on the main opening let to leave

always open the window.

WINTER

The sun rays come inside the patio so the thermal mass of the wall releases gra-

dually the heat during the afternoon. The tents have to be removed to ensure the

correct illumination of the class. All the windows are closed and the rammed earth

walls protect from the heat loss. All the year long the double insulation layer of

the roof, made in earth and strawbale, guarantee on optimal thermal and acustic

insulation.
