    CURRICULUM VITAE

Full time intern: Created building models, developed plans in AutoCAD, analyzed building sites and researched about existing architecture to apply in the design. Devel-oped and optimized cost scenarios for clients based on quotations of construction materials and design plans. Participated in the supervision of construction sites.

Full time intern: Constructed models based on existing building plans which were used to evaluate design and clarify ideas to client. Updated drawing plans in AutoCAD.

Designed the new o ces for the non-pro t organization Critas de Monterrey in a team of 4. Conceived four structurally homogeneous pavilions devised to optimizecosts and construction time. Respecting the topography, placed them adequately to create natural ventilation, sunlight obstruction, beautiful mountain views, and inti-mate green spaces. Delivered the architectural design plan set to the client.

Designed an environmentally friendly museum in the Parque Fundidora in Monterrey in a team of 4. Adapted an existing crane structure to hang the main building, connected it to a ground level reception, and placed the other facilities partly underground to create green sloped roofs.

Full time intern: Developed architectural drawings, de ned materials, and designed interior details for a building in the new nancial district in Riyadh. Participated in thecreation of the presentation booklet and its content. Updated structural plans using Rhino and the civil engineers guidelines.

Designed a mobile pavilion conceived to hold art expositions in Russia in a team of 3. It consists of a steel structure of repeated fragments that form a divided and dis-placed cylinder with a 25m2 elevated oor.

Analyzed the universitys existing plan with a team of 6, and proposed an area for the new design school based on the idea of improving the interaction between thestudents of the di erent branches. The proposal includes three partly underground inclined-roof volumes (housing classrooms and a theater) that embrace the existingarchitecture building.

  • ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP III

  • This community center is a composition of pa-villions sharing a common structural solutionand natural light penetrating method whichare placed according to the context of the site;the former location of a factory. It is adapted tothe surroundings by respecting the height andallignment to the sidewalks of the construc-tions found in the community. The later alsohelps create an enclosed public area that actsas an oasis from the problems and crime of theoutside. The complex provides the spaces nec-essary for the community members to investtheir time in more productive activities and itscomposition of inviting, intimate spaces wasdesigned to be taken over by the nearby resi-dents as a meeting place to be enjoyed daily.Such areas include the central garden, whichis the heart of the complex and a place whereone can simply hang out, the outdoor libraryreading area next to the caf, the exterior artgalleries with a central fountain area that pro-vides the soothing sound of water, and trees tobestow a cozier atmosphere. Indirect sunlightpenetrates into the buildings through openingsin the ceiling that provide natural illuminationto the workshops, cafeteria, library and o ces.

  • ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP IV

  • My team and I designed a master plan for a com-munity center, an art center, a market, and out-door recreation spaces in a very big empty lot inthe middle of a very poor area in Monterrey. Theheart of the project is the central space wherea circular square is found (currently, a runningtrack). There is a porch around the square thatconnects the three buildings and simultaneouslycreates entrances from the street to the heartof the project. The square opens up to a gardenof trees for the users to use as a park. Here, theland slants down, allowing a direct view towardsthe Cerro de la Silla; the citys iconic mountain. Each building was designed by a di erent groupmember; I designed the market. It is com-posed of two volumes separated in the middleto more easily accomodate itself to the inclin-ing topography. This is the most importantspace, made interesting by its play of spacethat consists of a variation in the amount ofopen space created in this circulation zone. The section shows how some walkways havedouble heights while others dont. The struc-ture is radial and repetitive and the sectionshows that the roof responds to the suns light, casting di erent intensities of shadows be-cause of the use of plants on the green roof.

  • CATEDRA LUIS BARRAGAN CONTEST

  • The proposal for an architecture museum in theParque Fundidora de Monterrey is a structurethat does not interfere with the existing build-ings, gardens, nor machines. It blends in perfectharmony with the surroundings because it hangsfrom an existing crane structure. The entranceis an elevator that ascends from a ground oorreception area to the main hung volume thatis enclosed by a pierced aluminum facade toallow light and natural ventilation to enter thebuilding. The other facilities are found under-ground or in an area around the crane structure.

  • ENRIC MIRALLES BENEDETTATAGLIABUE WORKSHOP

  • The city of Chengdu created a master plan fora new cultural center. My job was to propose apath to connect the main square with the drag-on lake park. I created a fun connection basedon the theme Sichuan Opera. The sinuosity ofthe limits I proposed create interesting publicand green spaces that eliminate the monotonyof the complex and create the possibility for dif-ferent activities to take place. The lineal parkis delimited by buildings whose ground oor isdestined for workshops, stores, restaurants, tea houses, theatres, markets, or any kind ofuse that attracts the public, and simultaneouslyhelps exploit culture in the city.

  • Pavilions are found in the park so thatcreative people get up to presentformally or informally.

I was assigned the theme Sichuan Opera and did a thorough investigation on the subject beacuse it is a part of the daily lives of the people.

  • The connexions shape isbased on the sinuosity ofvarious Chinese instruments.

  • CEMEX WORKSHOPCARITAS CONTEST

  • Caritas is an organization that gives medical help and social support to people in need. In 2011, the organization held a contest at our university for aproposal for its new o ce building. The considered lot has an existing warehouse we had to respect. Because of the interesting topography, existingtrees, and beautiful mountain views that create the wonderful genius loci we wanted to adapt our project to, we decided the buildings location to be inthe northeastern corner where an existing pool structure is found (in order to make use of its walls for a small auditorium) . We designed an economicstandard pavilion and repeated it throughout in order to lower building costs and simultaneously create unanimity. Their arrangement is what createsdiversity, enclosing various gardens and terraces, as well as exploiting di erent views.
