This loft was created by readapting a spacious class-room. The main concept was to create a comfortable space with the help of warm colors, old furniture and, as the main decoration, a large brick wall; giv-ing to the apartment the sense of a modern/vintage space.

PLAN

Circo Letterario is a project in which the designer principal aim is to create a pleasant and alternative place instead of what is known as a normal library or a traditional bar, consisting in different shapes and decoration based on the style of ‘the circus’. Inspired by the diversity of the furniture used in the bar, with its lamps and chairs; or as in the lounge area, where the sofas are all different from one another, giving a sense of personality and privacy between costumers. The spaces are well divided but also visible between them, taking advantage of the length of the space.Another meaningful decoration is the roof, there were created a kind of suspended ceiling with ondular lines, which create a view of continuity.

Project: “New Beginnings”THESIS in interior design. Concept: Restructuration and innovation of an existing appartment.May.2014

The project carried out by the author in this thesis is based on the restruc-turation of the apartment in which she has lived for 2 years. Located in the city of Florence, in the historical center .The designer's objective is to transform a space decorated with an antique atmosphere in a modern space, to achieve this, the designer was based on the style 'Shabby Chic' which is characterized by combining modern ele-ments with vintage elements, both functional and decorative.

The Designer choose this style because somehow characterizes the idea of her project, combining an atmosphere of the past with the present, ex-pressed through the colors and spaces using natural light. She is also based on adding modern structures to disperse the light around the rooms, modifying part of the roof. this is made with the aim to create a modern atmosphere but also that doesn't ruin the sense of the chosen style.

The Designer is focused in a specific group of customers , which are young clients, preferably females and the space will be adapted to be inhabited by no more than three people maximum.Another objective is to create a contrast between the facade of the building dating from 1500, and within the department, which is a modern place, creating a contrast in the colors that are normally used in most of the ap-partments in Italy,(warm colors) using lighter colors.
