Mound
Do all of these termites live in one colony?
Macriternes have a highly developed social caste system which includes workers, soldiers, and reproductives.
The Job of Worker Termites:-feed and groom all other casts-dig tunnels-locate food and water-maintain colony atmospheric balance-repair the nest
The Job of Soldier Termites:-defend the colony from outside threat-reley on worker termites to be fed
The Job of King and Queen Termites:-responsible for all reproduction of colony
Kingdom:AnimaliaPhylum: ArthropodaClass: InsectaOrder: IsopteraFamily: TermitoideaGenus: Macrotermes
Young mounds are roughly cicular and often irregular in shape.
Where are African termites found?
These termites are found throughout most of Africa in well drained areas
Why plants grow around termite Mounds?
Some termites selectively gather clay particles for mound construction in savannas. This trait results in a higher clay content present in termite mound soils than in surrounding soils. In many cases, termite soils also contain higher levels of organic carbon, nitrogen, and
minerals such as calcium and potassium than surrounding soils.

Space has meaning and tells a story that requires time to unravel before the visitors eyes, as in the Termite quadrant of Mankayana at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
Space evolves as the visitors and residents interact with it, as in the Elephant enclosure of Mankayana at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
Space can be generated out of the surroundings or become an abstraction of the elements, as in the South Street Seaport in New York.
Space is influenced by the seasons and elements, causing the boundaries to change through the years, as in Muir Woods National Monument.

Space can establish mood and affect visitor movement, as in Piedras Blancas, a historic project maintained by the BLM.
The intersection of planes, lines, and forms create space that provides unique chambers based on perspective, as in Triangle Park in San Luis Obispo.
Concept models push preconceptions of space by exploring boundary, object, and corridor relationships.
A story can be communicated by traveling though space, as in the Axion Adventure, a ride concept based on the Disney Pixar film WALL-E.
Space is created through the extrapolation of form and repetition of pattern, as in the Corona City Hall Veteran’s Memorial.
