« L’escale is intended as a pause to discover places for en-counters on a trip »

The objective of this project was to densify and make the youth hostel, located in the Old Quebec, accessible to disable people. This historical building was facing similar problems as the ones faced by other buildings in the same area such as lack

of space, spatial quality and lightning.

L’escale creates a vertical breakthrough which pierces the mas-sive structure in order to create links between the different le-vels. This breakthrough is represented by the common space to support encounters, with a view to the courtyard. The addi-tion in the backyard, to density the site, intensifies the centrality

of the center of exchange.

The challenge of the social housing project was to take into account the sharp drop of the land in the heart of the quartier

Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

Le Modulaire offers a different perspective of the cohabita-tion through modules of different sizes, positioned in a way to create unique appartments and common spaces for acti-

vities.

Our vision of the social houses has driven our project and with the integration on the courtyard which is accessible for the entire neighborhood and the passage to connect the

two streets.

Le Modulaire comes unifies the neighborhood community.

L’entremise as a transitional space.

The main entrance of the School of Architecture is very discreet and the project was to review and reinterpret

the entrance in order to make it more attractive.

L’entremise is now the transition space towards the indoor exposition. The shelter recreates the entrance and is creating the missing connection between the street and the School. It becomes the signal of the School and the extension of the exposition to pro-

mote the Culture.

fragmentationSuburb densification

Charlesbourg, Québec

The project was to think about the lack of space for new buildings and the opportunities to sell a portion of the land of a building. The objective is to densify the su-burbs in order to meet certain needs such as a bi-gene-

ration house or an independent house.

Fragmentation is the merge of three volumes represen-ting 3 differents spaces : circulation, public and private

spaces.

The easiest solution was the split of the land in order to build an independent house. Despite the narrow width of the land, Fragmentation is a house that has some good spatial qualities through the open space for mul-tiple usages, enlightened by the zenith light. Further-more, the spatial division of usage is done through the

steps that are following the topography.

vers la canopéefrom the shape to the location

abandoned dock in Lévis, Québec

This project was to work with the abandoned dock and find a way to maximize the usage of the location.

Vers la canopée is a structure which passes through a 300 years old tree. The structure is intended to be light and to give the impression that it floats. It also provides access to the tide and to the highest point of the tree. The passage through the diversity of the site and the old tree is rich in experiences and adds a new point of view towards Que-

bec city.

torsadeexplore the form

staircase connecting the lower and upper town

Creating a staircase on a rocky steep facade which was to exploit the space and views of the river.

Torsade is a curved staircase that becomes em-bedded in and out of the facade. Two staircases that intertwine like ribbons to propose different routes depending on the person, with different

views on the river.

The metal ribbons contrast with the cliff and allow a direct contact with it.

What is the time ?

The installation revisits the idea of time, attempts to reveal what is making up the time. It is thus dismantled in order to exploit its three dimensions. Hours, minutes, seconds..

elapse independently each in their world.

Here, the use to tell time in a single action is impossible. Un-derstanding the time and synthesize it must now be done in several steps. Where are the minutes? It is for you to find.

Be careful; perception can go wrong. Time flies quickly... but we cannot fully grasp the truth unless if take the time to re-

compose it.

In three times, three movements (« En trois temps, trois mouvements ») explodes the concept of time… in order to

allow everyone to recompose it it’s way.

On the second basement of the School of Architecture, there are two teaching equipments that are very rare in Ca-

nada: a hydraulic channel with an artificial sky.

Very few students know the area where these equipments are located or are even aware of their existence. From the top floor, color ribbons (“fil d’Ariane”) runs down the stairs to take us in the depths of the Vieux-Séminaire. Down in the basement, the “go to heaven” ribbons dressed up the pipes of the hydraulic channel. Then, along the corridors, ribbons are falling from the sky and add color to the dark repulsive space. On the step of the canal and the sky, colored rib-bons end up to mark the entrance of these two places to be

discovered during our long architecture studies.

The projet was to design a building for commercial and residential purpo-ses in Montreal. The project for the veterinary clinic with apartments on the second floor started from the conception up to the execution and was to

demonstrate all the knowledge acquired through the school program.

The contract was to make the conception of the backyard with a terrace that was fullfiling different needs such as: having a section for the apero, an outside kitchen, a section for yoga as well as being able to accommodate many people for

evening events.

Also, the client wanted to get some ideas for the layout of his front entrance. The contract was in-cluding also the preparation of the documents for the approval of the city as well as for the im-

plantation of the terrace by the contractors.

The terrace has different levels in order to establi-sh and delimit the different zones and give also some fluidity between the spaces. As such, the

terrace becomes an extension of the house.

The contract was to do the design of the ex-terior volumetry for two attached triplex and a stand-alone triplex. With the constraints from the client for the materials but a “carte blanche” for the volume and design, the rendus were very important to promote the beauty of the houses

and prepare the site plan for the city.

Also, I have worked on the interior designs and the elevations of the triplex.
