CV ALBERTO PASQUINELLI

VISIONA strong designer must be able to execute his vision on every scale. My interest in every aspect of architecture, from planning studies of cities edges to the detailing of a wall made by concre-te and wood, drives my approach. Thus, the first phase of my design process is intensive research. I spend hours at the site, taking notes, photographing and observing how it relates to the people within and around its area, the light, the colours and many other aspects. I have learned that a good project comes and develops from a continuous change of scale, with avision that goes from the general to the detail, without forgetting the “human scale” factor. Human being as length of a step, like the eye’s visual cone, like the perception of the temperatureschanges, like the light or the shades. The sensory aspect of architecture is not something that will be communicate by a nice rendering or a text, but is something that has to be experienced live, and then remember it and try to reproducein our work. This is why I truly believe it is necessary sometimes to leave the computer, the studio and to experienceas much as we can the spaces, colours, materials, neigbourho-ods, cities and people, all components to be kept in mind when we approach an architectural project.I did choose Architectural studies because it is a multidisciplinary field where many aspects comes together and the Architect should be polyhedral as well. This way of thinking influenced also my personal life and brought me, despite my young age, to travel extensively through my homeland.

MANIFESTO

“The human track in nature”, or as might be said the human intervertions within the natural landscapes. Many questions might be asked, but all answers depend on where you stand.Creating “bell view”is very simbolic. It serves as an aperture Which will create give people a new perception, a different point of view and new feelings towards the natural scale. The unreachable will become reachable trough architectural monuments inspired by the interactive references of the city and the surroun-ding it nature. Therefore the scale of nature will be appreciated and the person will be able to open up and try to figure his part in it...the question of who is dominant is obvious but ironic and rhetoric as well. The water is over floating many of the landscapes that we known or we’ve known. By going above the water “temporarily” and radically, an attention is being put for the saviour of El rocio, and the need to re-think our way of livingin or with nature.

INTRODUCTIONThe island of Sottomarina is part of the Venice’s lagunar, this place needed to become a multipurpose attractive center. The request of the committe were to think how to insert a new residence for the private trade, suites for the tourists, a gym, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a health club, a bar and the drawing of the pubblic space to connect the island with the urban context. One of the main important aspect during the design process was to make exploitable the area for citizens and tourists, the first principle was and is to create a peacefull place to enjoying the time for everyone needed.

ANALYSIS AND PROJECT

During the analysis process we studied the urban form of the build surround the island and the history of her. From the analysis of the urban context we tryed to lengthen the formal matrix compo-sit by parallel lines, the planimetric shows how we designed the relathionships betwe-en solids and voids. The history analysis gave us another reason to use the matrix context and how to use it beacause during the past “Sottomarina” was called “Vignole” for the presence of vineyards. So we tried to recreate a grid as well in the past 7 by 7 metres, redonate at the island the antic vocation. After that we tought how to break the obses-sive formal matix, thank to the bridge we found the space to create the beach and how to characterize the end with the bar.

CRITICITY OF THE QUARTER

Gratosoglio is a quarter of Milan, isoleted from the city. It was build at the beginning of the sixty for provide a house to the emigrates from the south of Italy. It worked for all the ninety but after this social housing solution falled in troubles for many reasons. The analysis process that I did it, showed an archi-tectural way to follow from the 45 grid of the existing buildings. I tryed to find a new sistem to insert in this urban complexity, looking how to revitalize the preexistences and raise new tipology of social housing, commerce, sports and others. The Zenobia project try to introduce a new level of life, not only the ground floor, generating pubblic space on top and inside the sistem. After the drawings at 1:2000 I developed only one ring that i created.

FUTURISTIC VISION AND REALITY

From utopia to the project

Portaluppi as always, sly in every schetch, drew a possible urban future in trhee utopic projects SKNE, Hellytown, Allabanue.Hellytown is a new vertical city, in this schetch the only Hellish thing is the frenetic repetition of the module meanwhile the sky is completely clear and cloudness. Step by step in every plan, the geometrical ivy modules devovours the structure and become a megalopolis which it raises the life to another level. The whole drawing evokes the child construction, modular and interchangeable in the connection points. The Construction system is fixed and the structure’s extention is chan-geable.
