De rama en rama _Torre mirador Madrid 2020Tipo: Proyectos 7Fecha: 11.2010

The project, located on the campus of the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, is seen as a rational temple inside the random forms forest in which it is inserted.

As in classical temples, evokes nature, although mani-festing a deliberate tension between architecture and nature.

The project becomes a "lighthouse" of human rationali-ty through order and clarity, however abstract the essence of the surrounding forest by the use of uneven perspective , overlapping indirect materials and the use of indirect light.

Detail section

For its construction it has been used exposed reinforced concrete and wooden paneling on some walls, so the spaces get homey. The concrete finish will have small grooves so recycled tablets with a maximum width of 20 cm were used in the process of framing .The structure will rises from rows of pillars on which rests a slab of concrete. For biggest distan-ces is used exposed concrete beams.

The curtain wall is designed following the pillars distribution. They are intended to follow the strategy of creating different layers that are combined through perspective. For the outer cap is used tropical wood that resists climate. From inside the glass is fixed by a painted aluminum carpentry which in turn is attached to a wooden uprights and also these to pillar. The junction between the wood mullion and pillar is fixed with screws. In some cases the cap is placed on the outside and others inside the edification. At the top ,as a crowning , a wooden baseboard is created from inside insulated sandwich panel embedded in the curtain wall.

Pathways to peace//Jerusalem Performing Arts Centre Type:Projects 8Fecha: 05.2012

The Performing Arts Center is located at the top of the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, facing visually the entire old city.

We understand the project as an element connected with the rest of the nearby landmarks and landscape, through a series of marked paths that make up a real network of routes. We use this experience to make visible the environ-ment settings. Walking experience, which included, in, out of the center, walk over it or stop in one of their yards.

From walls that run parallel to bridge the existing unevenness, it generates a series of terraces interrup-ted by courtyards with olive trees.

The main entrance is located in front of the nearby town, through a new public square that acts as a flow generator.

MATERIALITY

To give the project a tectonic image from bearing walls and create a material mimesis with adjacent buildings as well as with the distant image of Jerusalem, will choose to create a brickwork façade from recycled brick and set by lime mortar . Thus there is a direct dialogue with the tradition and the enclave.Taking advantage of the dominant position which is framed, the building opens itself to the outside through a facade with wooden movable walls that conceal their carpentry on a precast concrete members, obtaining a linear and clean image.

Ecos da Coimbra //Traditional Music IncubatorType: CompetitionDate: 04.2013

Coimbra, city with a long university tradi-tion is one of the birthplaces of fado, most known expression of Portuguese music very connected to academic forums.

The site, located in a plaza at the gates of the old city,is hidden behind the surrounding buildings struggling to prevail in the scene. In this way the sound become a flow catalyst for meeting between citizens.

The building, which operates as an incu-bator of traditional music groups, rise by two distinct volumes: a stage at the same level as the square treated as a prolongation of it, and a second volume that hosts exhibi-tion and recreational uses.

...Althought its hidden between the buildings

The location is closely linked to the square...

As in any scenario, you have a great backdrop with hinged and sliding slats, allowing different posi-tions depending on the programming, the sunshine or the scenography of the act.

A plaza-scenario is created at the same level as the square so that it is understood as an extension of it. The facing stairs gain a scenographical sense and serve as bleachers to sit and watch the performances.

Coinciding with the organization of the Olympic Games in Madrid, we propose the creation of a observation tower where now stands the obsolete Faro de Moncloa, from which to observe the most emblematic monuments of the capital.

In this way, tourists visiting the city primarily to attend spor-ting events, can discover in a fast and dynamic way emblems of Madrid, and also its genuine sky.

The city is discovered along a route (which emulates the climb of a tree) in which they appear viewpoints provided with a magnifying glass that allow an optimal view of the landmarks. For a variation of the zoom depending on the distance to the target, is modified by the gap between lenses.

Alongside these viewpoints, it alternate with other elements that works as skylights as well as other contain recreational and exhibition program.

Marshmalllow candy miniatureType: Industrial designDate: 12.2012

Taking as a model the Marshmallow sofa, considered the most iconic of all modernist sofas, we create a miniature with the mate-rial that inpired the architect George Nelson. The packaging follows this same line, so it is conceived as a box of candies.

Following the previous exercise and taking the mermelade jar as model, we create this auxiliary table with inside storage.

For resting and reading areas in college, is projected this table provided with light made from pine wood. The simplification in the design and assem-bly lowers the costs.
