DEAD WORDSThe puzzle game that revives wordsB A J U L A T E
Definition: Bare a burdenPronunciation: Ba-ju-late
Origin:Directly from the Latin noun Bajulate meaning ‘to bare a heavy burden’.
Why this word? The word is Latin in origin meaning to bare a heavy burden.. The exact origin of the word could not be found, However the word Bajula is a Vulger word found in the ancient Latin language.
How to use the word impigrity in a sentence?“Their Sherpa aides were vexed by the demand that they bajulate as well as guide.”
Pronunciation:im-PIG-ri-ti
Origin: Directly from the Latin noun impigritat meaning ‘speed’.
Why this word? The prefix ‘im’ always stand for the ‘opposite of’ (impatient- not patient), Pig is a pig. With the pig’s proven abilities to be everything but quick or speedy, this makes sense. But then the real origin.. Although right about the im part, and almost right about the pig part! The Latin piger stands for sluggish, thus - not sluggish is speedy!
How to use the word impigrity in a sentence? This is a great noun to replace the regular speed with, but with its special sound.
“The impigrity with which she gave birth made us all think that their wedding was quickly arranged for more than one reason…”
“He cleaned the entire mansion with such , we simply had to wonder about the quality of his work”.
Definition: quickness, speed
Lost and Found
A project centered around the rival of “dead words”. The aim was to create a way or a reason to reintegrate the words into society.
My project saw the words transformed into a game for android or Ios. Allowing for a massive audience to be targeted.
The game, as you play it, teaches you the words but in such a way that you don’t know you are in fact learning. It also has an achievment system to keep players coming back for more.
IDI Awards
A 15 second sting animation for an awards ceremony.
The final piece consisted of 4 different types of animation all in one piece to signify the varying was one can create a motion piece.
Video Games
This is a project which discusses the good aspects of gaming.
It allows the viewer to engage with a lot of information quite easily and quickly. The information is all based on factual evidence of the good the gaming industry has done, instead of focusing on the all to common “go out and play games are bad for you” notion
The overall tone of the piece shouts gaming. This was achieved by using the pixelated form of old games.
The Olympic Budget
The Olympics was one of if not the biggest event last year. It was an appropriate topic for a set of infographics based around an Olympic topic of our own choosing.
The graphs on the right are based on the total funding and expenditure of the Olympic committee. The colours were chosen based on the colours of the Olympic scheme itself and also on flag colour.
