I found the old negative photos from an album at home, which are well preserved. The photo has the colour of the years,

and the printed clothes worn by my grandma in the photo have been with her for a long time. I tried to reproduce the patterns on my grandma's vintage clothes with my own method, and then used the printed fabrics I made to make kiss clasp bag. The process is like an inheritance ritual. Grandma ’s life stories comes to me in the river of time. I scrutinize

and cherish them carefully. Even if I cannot be personally on the scene, I re-interpret them with my sincere heart.

Hakka Wedding

Hakka Wedding, hand embroidery, 2018

My work “Hakka Wedding” is a set inspired by Hakka circular embroidered pieces, featuring traditional Hakka’s stitches and patterns of auspicious animals in classical Chinese Literature. I apply a variety of traditional stitches, such as gold-

plated nail stitch, stem stitch, spread stitch, gradient stitch, and so on, to the work. In “Hakka Wedding”, I am telling a love story, a process of expectation, joy, chaos, rest, and commitment. I expressed my imagination of happiness by creating

these five works which traditionally placed in goblets.
