Evaporative Air Cooling Mechanism

Warm and

dry air

Cold and

humid air

Evaporative air cooling is the natural way of cooling, similar to a breeze blowing across a lake. Thisbreeze drops the temperature and has a relaxing cooling effect.

The evaporative air cooler cools the air by means of the evaporation of water. When waterevaporates into the air, the result is a mixture of air and water molecules. This chemical changerequires heat which is taken from the water molecules, resulting in cooler air propelled from theunit.

USER TIPS

The recommended maximum relative humidity level is 60% orless, which allows a noticeable temperature decrease. Thetemperature decrease will be greater in drier climates becausehigher evaporation occurs when the humidity is low.

The evaporative air cooler should not be used in enclosedspaces. It must be kept level and there must be water in thewater tank. The room should have doors and windows opened to allow free air flow. The evaporative air cooler works best when placed near an open window, so that outside air is drawn into the evaporative air cooler, the air circulates in the room, then exits via the door. The maximum cooling effect is felt when a person is in the flow of air coming out of the evaporative air cooler.

The evaporative air cooler can also be used to humidify dry airduring cool weather. To be used for humidification the windows and doors should be closed to allow the humidified air to accumulate. The evaporative air cooler is not an air conditioner as it does not use a compressor or refrigerant gas. It should not be expected to cool as efficiently as a refrigerated air conditioner.

When the product is used for the first time the Honeycomb cooling media will have an odour which will dissipate in a weekor so of initial use.

Periodic draining of the tank will help reduce the build-up of calcium deposits on the pads. Periodic cleaning of pads will also help increase the life of the pads and the cooling performance of the cooler. Do not attempt to clean the pads while they are installed in the pad frames or in the cooler. They must be completely removed from the cooler and then can be hosed off and lightly brushed to remove or reduce the calcium build-up. Your cooler pads should be inspected and serviced if necessary twice a year, at the beginning of a season and midway through. Your pad may need to be cleaned or changed more frequently, depending on local air and water conditions.

Rear• Remove the two screws holding the rear panel (Fig.1) and remove the rear panel assembly. • You now have access to the inside of water tank and the honeycomb media. • To remove the media, remove four screws holding the pad frame on the rear panel. • Once the pad frame is free, gently bend tabs on each side to release the water catch pan. • Once the water catch pan is removed, media pad can slide out the assembly for cleaning. • Assemble in the reverse manner, to attach the media & panel back to their orginal place, after cleaning.

Front• Remove the four (4) screws holding the front panel(Fig.2) • Remove the front panel assembly by lifting the bottom side and unhooking the tabs on top. • To remove the media follow the instruction in rear media assembly.
