Members All, This will be my last news letter. I want to thank everyone who helped me thru this year especially my wife Lynn. It has been a good year and I feel that with the help of my team of officers the lodge is better off today than last year. I also want to give my con-gratulations to all of the new officers and wish them the best of luck in the coming year. We had Meals on Wheels Feb 15th and served up 64 meals. Thanks to all the volunteers that came and helped with preparation and delivery of the meals. On Feb 20 members for our lodge supported the Army of Hope in Titusville. This is a great event that supports veterans through out the state. Thanks to the members who attended. I think we had more members that any other lodge at the event. Now on to our Elk's of the Month. This couple is un-separable and always together at the lodge. Mickey Rauch who became an Elk this year and her husband Art who demitted to our lodge are at the lodge whenever it is open. Thanks for all you both do. We will have installation of Officers on March 26. Please see the bulletin for more information on this and other upcoming events. The lodge needs your support. Please plan on attending events at your lodge. Also membership dues notices were sent out this month. Please make sure to send in or pay your dues at the bar they are due by the end of March. Paul Leonard Lodge Scholarship Chairman SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, I presented Student of the Month awards at both Atlantic High School and Spruce Creek High School.
Miss Anna Wuest of Port Orange, is the daughter of Angel Wuest. Anna has a 4.23 GPA and plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering. She has several options open for universities, but is leaning towards FSU. Mr. Max VanAuken of Port Orange, is the son of Terence Van Auken and Taylor Ashley. Max has a 3.31 GPA. He is senior captain for the Atlantic High School basketball team and is planning to major in athletic training from UCF and eventually becoming an NBA athletic trainer.

Miss Brianna Gates of Ormond Beach, is the daughter of Samantha Stechire and Justin Gates. Brianna has a 4.66 GPA and plans to attend Yale University pursuing a degree in international rela-tions with a minor in a strategic language, work-ing towards a career in the FBI or other agency within the intelligence community. Mr. Kevin Ling of Port Orange, is the son of Edward Ling and Weiling Chen. Kevin has a 4.61 GPA and plans to attend MIT working towards a degree in biomedical engineering. After college, he aims to become a professional that develops artificial organs or works on tissue fabrication for those who suffer from serious medical issues that require replacement through new and innovative methods.

APPLICATION FOR LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Grand Lodge Statute 14.260 provides that Life Membership may be conferred upon EDWARD K. JACKSON, PDDGER who has paid the required annual dues for the period of not less than thirty (30) years preceding his election and has attained the age of not less than sixty-five (65). EDWARD K. JACKSON was initiated at Elks Lodge #2442 in Bountiful, Utah on February 23, 1984. He then dimitted to Springfield/Hillside Elks Lodge #2004. He then became affil-iated with Port Orange Lodge #2723 on July 19, 2005, giving him 33 years. This application will be published in the March 2016 issue of the Orange Peal and will be acted upon at the March 1, 2016 regular lodge meeting.

This application will be published in the March 2016 issue of the Orange Peal and will be acted upon at the March 1, 2016 regular lodge meeting.

Since joining the Port Orange Elks Lodge, Art & Mickey have volunteered as a pair. If you see one, you see both. Mickey stepped up and took the position as chairperson of the Officers of the Day. Whenever they are asked to do a job or to help, they never say “No”. Congratulations and thanks for all you do!
