Port Forwarding
Port forwarding enables programs or devices running on your LAN to communicate with theinternet as if they were directly connected.
his is most commonly used for !"#P AA devices or online gaming (via game console orcomputer).
Port forwarding wor$s by %forwarding& a specific 'P or P port from the modem * router tothe computer or device you are using.
+ou can also restrict which incoming connections will have the rule applied to it. his enablesyou to specify all incoming connections, from a specific subnet or from an individual #Paddress.-
ifferent services and different games all use different 'P or P ports.
+ou will need to consult any information supplied with your service or game inorder to find which ports need to be forwarded.
+ou can only forward a port to onelocation (#P address).
#n some cases, this may cause issues when multiple LAN devices (computers,game consoles, or !"#P AAs) attempt to use online gaming as same time orma$e multiple !"#P service connections.
#n these cases, you would need to use an alternate port for any subseuentconnections after the first device.
