A Nautical Dining Experience Since 1964

Your Celebration Destination!

October 5, 2012 Happy October, Everyone!

We are pleased to present our latest edition of the Port Edward newsletter. As we transition into a new season, the Crew is full of optimism and passion. We have been working on new ideas and promotions

that are sure to spice up autumn. This is such a beautiful time of year as leaves begin to change color, we begin to light our fireplaces for the first time of the season, and everything around us goes through a

metamorphosis. With Sweetest Day approaching rapidly (October 20), we are very pleased to announce our newest diner package for the celebration. This year, we are offering our guests who reserve in advance, their choice of Chicken Marsala, a 10 oz. Top Sirloin Steak, or our 8 oz. Lobster Tail, all served with Salad AND a Mini Dessert of your choice. This amazing special will be available for a limited time only and for just $24.99 per person. Sweetest Day is all about offering each and every one of us an opportunity to remember friends, relatives, and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed during the year. Come out to the Port and show that special someone in your life how much they mean to you and how thankful you are to have them in your life.

As the Football Season gets fully underway, we are ecstatic to bring as

many games to you as possible on our three screens in the Salem Lounge. This year some of the Crew will be dressing in football attire each Sunday Brunch and Dinner to show support for our favorite NFL team (of course, The Bears). The Crew will dress only on Sundays which the Bears are playing, either home or away. We invite all of our guests to wear jerseys or apparel that reflects their favorite teams as we watch the games every Sunday at the Port. Also, new for this season will be the addition of raffles. Tickets can be purchased for $5 per ticket or $20 for five tickets with a no maximum on the number available for entry into our raffle. We will be featuring numerous prizes including Jerseys, Gift Cards, and Port Edward Gear. This coming Sunday, October 7, we will feature an authentic Brian Urlacher Jersey. Make sure you join us for Football

Sundays in the Salem Lounge for your opportunity to win. We will also feature $5 Sloppy Joe’s and Bratwurst in the Lounge on Sundays in conjunction with the football games. Of course, our distinctive Bloody Mary and Riverita will be $5 as well. What could be better? Speaking of the Lounge, Marge, our Wine Steward and Beverage Director, has just finalized our list of specialty autumn/Halloween cocktails. The list is extensive, with many new selections, among longtime favorites. Take a look below to see our new assortment of cocktails and be sure to try them all.

As many of you know, water and nautical activities have always been in the background for our founder, Ed Wolowiec. Ed’s passion accounts for the unique structure, design, and artifacts of the Port. As a little test of knowledge, we are going to feature a “On the Water” quiz to see just how much you know about different bodies of water. Best of luck and enjoy! (Questions are courtesy of our friends at the Northwest Quarterly).
