    MICHELIN AND PORSCHE

A successful partnership for optimum performance.

On the race track. On the road.

Michelin and Porsche have enjoyed closelinks since as far back as 1969. The partner-ship between these two leaders in technolo-gy has in fact been significantly stepped upin the last decade to the benefit of everyPorsche enthusiast!

As part of this cooperation, Porsche relies onMichelins expertise long before a vehicle islaunched on the market. Well in advance of

this final stage, the experienced tyre manu-facturer develops specific products tailoredprecisely to Porsche models.

This ensures that the interaction betweenthe chassis and tyres can be continuously op-timised with precise fine-tuning. Only thesehigh-performance tyres receive the highly

    coveted N-marking.

The companys successes in motorsport de-monstrate how perfectly orchestrated tyreand vehicle performance can push a vehicleto its limits.

The passionate working relationship on therace track ensures that the technology istransferred to the road, forming the basisfor the development of production tyres. Itis no wonder then that many Porsche sports

cars are already equipped with Michelin

tyres when they leave the factory.

Tyres such as the MICHELIN Pilot Super Sportor the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 2 are amongthe fastest tyres approved for use on publicroads.

State-of-the-art technologies, hugely dura-ble high-performance fibres and unrivalledstability even at the highest speeds Michelin innovations provide the perfectracing components for your Porsche.

How well the companies complement eachother is demonstrated by an outstanding

    world record from 2013:

Equipped with the MICHELIN Pilot SportCup 2 tyres, the Porsche 918 Spyder com-

pleted the North Loop of the Nrburgring14 seconds faster than any other produc-tion car to date!

You too can experience the fascinatingand successful working relationship bet-ween Porsche and Michelin, ensuring supre-me performance every time you sit behindthe wheel!

    More performances brought together

N1 in safety and quality forEuropean consumers.(1)

    N1 in durability among Europeanconsumers.(1)

    Renowned for its cutting-edgetechnologies.(1)(2)

    (1) Survey in 4 European countries (France, Germany, Spain,

Italy) and Turkey, conducted by Millward Brown on behalfof Michelin in 2013. Over 5000 people were surveyed.

    (2) Michelin development partner to Porsche.

    ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT FROM PORSCHE:The N-marking.

Porsche is the very first vehicle manufactu-rer to introduce a specific quality seal fortyres the N-marking.

Every tyre you receive from your Porscheservice consultant at the Porsche Centrehas been extensively tested and appro-ved by Porsche. This is evident from theN-marking, which is always indicated inthe tyres technical specifications. Thefollowing abbreviations exist: N0, N1, N2,N3, N4, N5 and N6. The numbering alwaysrefers to the tyres technical specs at the

time of its approval, and is conti-nued se-quentially.

Porsche tyres with the N-marking stand outfrom other tyres in particular due to theirgeometry, the rubber compound usedand the test procedure employed, which

encompasses 33 key criteria in total. Theseinclude 12 objective outdoor criteria, suchas dry-braking performance, wet-braking

performance and service life. There are also16 objective indoor criteria, such as rol-ling resistance and performance at highspeeds. In addition, the test also includesfive subjective outdoor criteria, such ashandling and comfort.

Porsche makes no compromises when itcomes to safety, and places greater valueon traction both on dry and wet roadsurfaces than on fuel efficiency in its tyretests. No matter how tempting it may beto purchase a cheaper tyre with optimisedrolling resistance in an emergency si-

tuation, every metre of braking distancecounts.

Only tyres with the N-marking provide youwith the certainty that you are purchasinga high-quality tyre which has been spe-cially tested for your model of Porsche.
