THE CULINARY ART INSTITUTEThe Blue Souq that is located in the heart of the city of Sharjah and the Buhaira (lake of Sharjah) are the bounda- ries of the site for this project. Extracting the circulation from the site and making it part of the circulation of the building itself was one aspect of the design. Since it is an institute for cooking classes, the design consists of the main public plaza with restaurants opening up to it on the lower floors and culinary kitchens and classrooms on the upper floors. The material that was explored for this project was metal which was treated as a layer that wraps all the roofs together with some penetrations at places to create specific experiences at specific spaces

THE REFUGEE CAMP’S BUS STATION In colaboration with UNRWA headquarters in Amman, Jordan, this project was to propose a new bus station to Jerash refugee camp as per the refugees’ request. After having been to the campfor several times, it was noticable that there is a lack of urban context and public space. With the pro- posed complex, the project will compensate for a public park with several gathering spaces, likea cafe, and at the same time serve as a bus stop with parking lots and a ticketing booth. With a lim-ited set of material choices, the design decisions were made based on the simple and humble con- ditions of the camp so that the project will fit in and be easily accepted by the refugees in the camp

THE WAREHOUSE GALLERYUsing parametric design and innovations in 3D modeling this project was to introduce mo-dernity into a warehouse gallery to exhibit chair designs and also a fabrication space to manu-facture the chairs with the necessary machines. Using parametic design tools like Grasshop- per, Maya and Rhinocoreos, the approach was to create a pattern of folds from metal panels that would stand both structurally and aesthetically. The aim of the pattern was to appear as if evolvingfrom the ground to create a column-like structure and continue upwards to form the roof condition

THE CONTAINER Containers are usually boring symmetrical boxes used for storing and shipping. For this purpose that this project was to reinnovate the design of a typical container. The concept of this design was to show the aftereffect of the rennovation and be able to compare it to the typical basic design and therefore the character- istics of a basic container were reserved. The concept begins with a closed container that later on unfolds at certain areas to begin to come to life. These folds become bases for lighting fixtures, seating areas andtables for the food to be served on as it is a fast food booth. The two walls existing in the middle are to empha-size on the different zones (kitchen versus service area). They also provide more folds for tables and seats

THE BASTAKIYA HOUSEInfluenced by history and precedent in the area called Bastakiya in Dubai, United Ar-abs Emirates, this house project was to adapt to the contextual and contemporary environ-ment. The architecture consists of a gallery, studio and a living space. This presumes a care- ful study of the relative conditions and a sustained search for connections across time. Along withthis project there was an on going study of vernacular building tradition and landscape integration

THE CONTEMPORARY MUQARNAS This column design was shortlisted for the Jean-Claude and Chritso competition 2013. Thedesign was inspired by the geometrical patterns that exist in the famous Muqarnas in Islamic Architec- ture. The column is made out of Aluminum sheets that are connected together with revit connection. Thedesign consist of a slit that allows interaction with the interior of the column as well as the exterior of it

THE EXPLORATIONSAside from architecture and studio, exploration of materials and design potentials was developed using differ- ent programs and different means. Some include material exploration and spacial experience through physical models and photography. Other forms of design were approached through programs like maya and photoshop
