Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas only acceptsaluminum pop tabs. These tabs can easily be distinguished from

steel pop tabs using a few simple tests.

Common Steel Items: Pet foodcans, tuna cans, soup cans,vegetable cans.Steel is heavier than aluminumand much harder to bend.

Use a magnet. If the pop tab issteel, it will cling to the

magnet. If it is aluminum, itwill not.

Common Aluminum Items: Drinkcans, such as energy drinks orsoda cans.Aluminum is light in the palm ofyour hand and easier to bend.

Take a key and press down onthe pop tab with it. If it bends

easily, it's aluminum. If not, it issteel.
