Prepping your Site

When the sun comes out during March and April, Poor Farmer’s becomes a busy place, but campers don’t come out to relax; they’re out here to get their sites ready. Your campsite is a reflection of you, so please tailor your area to your own personality. Some of you might have questions about what liberties you have with your area. Make sure you read your copy of the Rules & Regulations. Here are some things to remember about getting your campsite ready for the camping season.

Make sure you speak with Mike Till before digging or planting anything more than a foot deep.

Do not affix anything to trees, campground facilities or your neighbor’s campers.

Speak with Mike Till before building any platforms on your site. There are specific rules for platforms that I will need to go over with you.

Don’t forget about our $99 “Summerization” Special. Our Service Department is standing by for your call.

Finally, if you need gravel on your site let the parts store know. Please understand that we may not be able to deliver the gravel as soon as you ask for it, but we will get it there.

Once you have your site ready to go, make yourself a cold glass of whatever, pop-a-squat in your favorite chair and start camping.

2014 Coachmen Catalina 223FB

2016 Coachmen Catalina 233DS

These two Coachmen travel trailers are light weight, roomy, and priced right. The 223FB on the left is a straight forward coach. It has a large bathroom in the rear, no slide to worry about and under 4500lbs. The 233DS on the right is the next size up. It has a slide-out for the booth dinette and a large pantry. It also gives you the large bathroom in the rear of the coach, as well as an outside kitchen. Stop in or call

Mike or Denise to see these RVs and others in person. Let’s Go Camping!

Well, this issue will be the last to contain a Polar Farmer’s section until November later this year. We were blessed with a relatively warm winter. We had a couple spurts of cold and snow, but we also had a good amount of sun and warmth. The day of turning the water back on is just around the corner, so make sure you are starting to get your coach ready to move back to your site. If you arrived at Poor Farmer’s recently and do not have a permanent site, get with Mike about getting one assigned to you. Due to the warmer temperatures this winter, there are a few more ruts in the ground than normal. Please be kind to the ground as you move from the shelter to your campsite. If you’re on the fence about whether the ground is too soft; than it probably is. If you are going to need help moving let Mike know so he can put it on his schedule. Thank you all for staying with us this winter. It was a pleasure to have you here with us as Polar Farmer’s and even more of a pleasure to have you here for the 2016 camping season.

Now Taking Applications!

Poor Farmer’s is in the market for a friendly, mature, hardworking individual that can help our customers find exactly what they are looking for; whether it be a new faucet for their kitchen sink or a new RV that has everything including the kitchen sink. This person must be a self-motivator, have good communication skills and must be willing to address the General Manager as “Your Highness”. Okay, that last one might be negotiable. I have become good friends with many of you so don’t think that because we are tight that it guarantees you a job. In fact, it will probably hurt your chances because I have got to know you too well. If you or anyone you know are looking for a great place to work, get in to the parts store and fill out an application for employment or drop off your resume. We will be calling for interviews soon.
