PONIDZIE

The area is famous for Europe’s largest deposits of gypsum, reserves of springs of mineral water.

On Ponidzie there are also interesting monuments.

In the spring there are a lot yellow flowers called Miłek. It is plant symbol of Ponidzie.

Ponidzie is an agricultural region with traditions dating back thousands of year. Royal castles were

built here knights organized reunions.

Today, the most important centers of the region are Busko-Zdrój, Jędrzejów and Pinczów.

On Ponidzie the second longest Polish gypsum cave has been discovered.

The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Stopnica is located in this region.

There is also St. Stanislaus Church in New Korczyn and Old Synagogue in Pinczów.

The Chapel of St. Anna is located in Pinczów. It was the first free-standing chapel dome in

Poland.

The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Pinczów as a part of the former monastery complex.
