HISTORYPolytank Ghana Limited was established in 1992 by our Chairman, Mr. Ramchand Mohinani and our Directors, Mr. Ashok Mohinani and Mr.Anil Mohinani. Ramchand Udharam Mohinani is the founder and Chairman of the Mohinani Group of Companies, the creator of many Ghanaian household brand names. Born in India and he moved to Ghana in 1957 with a few colleagues to establish a franchise for a trading entity in Ghana. for the agro processing industry. In the 1990s, he created Poly Tank (Ghana) Limited and Poly Kraft (Ghana) which have an enormous portfolio of products.

The company’s most trusted flagship product still remains the Polytank. It is one of the few products in Ghana which enjoys word of mouth support based mainly on the need for residents to get access to clean water daily. Research continues to show that consumers have a strong affinity to the brand leading it to be the generic brand name for any water tank. Polytank comes in various types, shapes and colors. These are the Rambo, Rino, Hippo and Sumo series and it ranges from 200 liters to 30,000 liters storage capacities. Polytank is sold at uniform prices across the country and it’s manufactured both in Kumasi and Accra.

THE PRODUCTOur quality products are designed to provide highly durable and resilient practical services to our consumers. We essentially make their lives easier by eliminating the worry of experiencing a water shortage. Our Tanks are durable and reliable because they are designed to withstand the pressure of storing large volumes of water in extremely hot climates. RECENT DEVELOPMENTSNew Mobile Toilet System

Due to poor sanitation, many people have been exposed to endemic diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea and typhoid which has affected human development and increased poverty. Therefore we introduced a new mobile toilet system that seeks to change the lives of Ghanaians by improving access to decent and adequate toilet facilities in peri-urban communities.

The complete portable toilet system is made up of a moveable kiosk fitted with a toilet bowl which has a flushing mechanism, a hand washing sink and an optional bio-digester for waste disposal and management. This unique toilet system comes with an inbuilt overhead water storage tank which can store up to 200 litres of water for flushing.

We are proud to say that we are the first local company in Ghana to manufacture such a complete portable toilet system that is hygienic and environmentally safe. The innovative toilet system is in line with our effort to support government and international development organisations with their campaigns to end open defecation by providing access to affordable and sustainable toilets.

Waste Recycling Campaign in Schools

Our environment is so fragile and a healthy environment is critical to the health of every individual. Ensuring we care for our environments by becoming aware of the impact on our lives have is critical to the long term future of our country. It is our children’s future and to this end we believe it is imperative that they get involved in shaping their own future. We had created a campaign to reach out to the school children of Ghana teaching them about recycling and caring for the environment.

The superhero “EcoMan” was created to inspire young Ghanaians to recycle as a competition, donating recycling bins to schools in the Ashanti and Kumasi regions. Enviro Fairs were held in both the Accra and Kumasi regions, raising awareness around taking care of the environment as well as some good old-fashioned fun. The kids had the opportunity to become Eco-Heroes when they received wonderful face painted masks.

This is just the beginning of our ongoing campaign, as we reinforce our commitment to our social responsibility in Ghana.
