Academic Excellence

Policy Statement:

SATC recognizes academic excellence in student performance through membership in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).

Procedures:

To qualify for membership in the NTHS: 1. Students must be nominated by an instructor. 2. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better. 3. Upon being notified they were nominated, students submit one typed

paragraph stating why membership into NTHS is important to them to Student Services. The paragraph should include any community service and/or college volunteerism.

4. Students’ statements are reviewed and interviews conducted by the selection committee. Once the selection process has been completed, the selection committee submits the names of the students recommend for membership to the NTHS.
