Polar Vision December 2011:

Seeing Beyond Limits

Polar VisionSeeing Beyond Limits

Polar VisionSeeing Beyond Limits

Polar Vision is a truly extraordinary and inspiring expedition, following in the tradition of great

polar explorers such as Scott, Amundsen, and Shackleton

Crossing Antarctica from the coast to the South Pole is considered one of the hardest expeditions, comparable to climbing Mount Everest or sailing solo around the world

Alan Lock will be the first visually impaired person to complete this challenge

Overview

Polar VisionSeeing Beyond Limits

The Challenge

Setting off on the two-month expedition in the Antarctic Spring, the team will start from the coast and will trek approximately 600 miles across the frozen Antarctica continent to the South Pole. The team will be pulling their food and equipment on polar sleds weighing up to 100 lbs.

Polar VisionSeeing Beyond Limits

The Goal

1. To set a record for the first visually impaired person to trek from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole

2. Polar Vision will aim to raise invaluable awareness, publicity and funds for sight charities:

Since his sight loss Alan has worked ona number of major fundraising and awareness initiatives, most recent ofwhich was a Guinness World Record - rowing the Atlantic Ocean whichraised over $80,000.

Alan currently is currently completing his MBA at UC Berkeley.

The Opportunity – Polar Vision and China

We are looking for companies who may wish to partner with us to make this expedition a reality – in return we can offer:

1. Worldwide Brand Exposure

2. Demonstrate Products

3. Chinese Citizen Joining

the Team

Huge scope for highlighting a brand both in China, the USA and internationally , through a major media plan and a documentary.

The expedition allows huge scope for the demonstration of products and services in a high profile, global event. This includes

clothing, consumer electronics and telecoms.

We have the potential for a Chinese person to join the team, helping to set a Guinness World Record on the 100th Anniversary

of the South Pole being reached.
