The new range of Rockfon ceiling tiles developed for bandraster profiles

provides you with even more design freedom. The use of bandraster

profiles enables you to create a flexible interior environment where

partition walls can be installed according to the needs of the building

users at any time, without compromising the ceiling expression. This

makes for efficient use of open plan office space, “white space”.

Rockfon Polar tiles for bandraster profiles are also well suited for corridors

where long and wide formats can provide an elegant look. The width of the

bandraster profiles also allows for installation of lighting and signage – all in

all, a highly flexible and integrated office solution.

Rockfon Polar for bandraster is a smooth surface high density ceiling tile

with an attractive finish. It complements the range of products with edges

designed especially for bandraster application, including Rockfon Sonar.

PRODUCT DESCRiPTiON

Rockfon ceiling tiles for bandraster systems combine the elegant look of the concealed D-edges on the long sides with the practical and more easily demountable AEX-edges on the short sides which fit snugly into the bandraster profiles. A solution with Rockfon bandraster formats provides easy access to service installations above the ceiling.

The smooth, elegant white surface of Rockfon Polar contributes to an overall impression of calm aesthetics.

SOUND ABSORPTiONSound absorption has been measured in accordance with EN ISO ���. Sound

absorption data αp, αw and ISO Class in accordance with EN ISO 116��. Noise

Reduction Coefficient (NRC) is calculated in accordance with ASTM C�2�.

FiRE PERFORmANCEGeneral - Rockfon Polar is made from 100% stone wool which can withstand more

than 1000°C for more than 120 minutes without melting.

Reaction to fire - Class A1 in accordance with EN 1��01-1, the best possible class.

Meets with Essential Principle 1 of InFiRe's Design Guide thereby contributing to a safer

and more insurance friendly building.

HUmiDiTy RESiSTANCE AND DimENSiONAL STABiLiTy (Flexural tensile strength)

Rockfon ceiling tiles are dimensionally stable, even at humidity levels of up to 100% RH.

As the humidity inside the building has no influence on Rockfon ceiling tiles, the ceiling

can be installed at all temperatures ranging from 0ºC to �0ºC and no acclimatization

is necessary. Rockfon ceiling tiles retain their superior properties even in infrequently

heated and unheated rooms. However, in accordance with best practice building

design, precautions should be taken to avoid condensation risks.

Rockfon Polar is predominantly classified as Class1/C/ON in accordance with EN 1�96�.

Some module sizes will be Class 2/C/ON.

HyGiENEStone wool does not contain organic nutrients and so is not attacked by rot, fungi or

bacteria. This makes for a cleaner and healthier indoor environment.

CLEAN ROOm CLASSiFiCATiONPolar for bandraster profiles is classified as ISO � in accordance with ISO 1�6��-1.

CLEANiNGThe Polar surface may be vacuum cleaned with soft brush attachment up to �2 times

per year.

HANDLiNG/STORAGERockfon Polar for bandraster profiles is lightweight and easily handled. Due to inertness

and dimensional stability of the tiles, no special storage or handling requirements are

necessary. Please see our general handling/storage guidelines for detailed information.

Polar is ideally suited for fasttrack development and can be installed at an early stage in

the building process due to the inherent stability of the 100% stone wool. Rockfon tiles

can be easily cut using a sharp knife.
