The Writer’s Dream Time now for me to make my journey to visit my familiar friend. Get into gear and travel the well known road of thought. Follow the dream through convoluting twists within my mind. Seeking out the one I have spent so many hours with. This time consuming one I struggled to give life to and Fed and nurtured along the way. I gave my all, my very being my soul to your creation. Yet you are so strange to me for along the way you have changed I no longer feel that you are mine we grow apart and yet I am shackled to you need to shrug you off, you do not please me the hours are lost. You sap my mind, take up my time, I cannot be at peace because of you. You sit like a stone within my within mind taking my up my time Like a Leech you cling and eat into my very soul and yet I do not like you I want you gone, for you are not the answer to my dream. You sit there mocking, knowing how hard it is for me to let you go. I wanted to write have fame; become self-satisfied with achievement, but I failed and must destroy and empty your space. All that effort I know you think I will lack the courage to bid you gone. But I will be strong, when I am ready I will go in for the kill, put you in a shroud Bury you forever and yet, like DNA there will be parts of you that will remain. Your dying breath will float upon the air with elements that can be re-absorbed. Quick, do it now, and with one swift tap you are gone and I feel the pain of your dying. I stare upon the space where once you were with some regret for you were mine, Once you were my friend, I gave birth to you, loved you, but we moved on. GB poetry competition. 580 words.

The Writer’s Dream

Time now for me to make my journey to visit my familiar friend.Get into gear and travel the well known road of thought.Follow the dream through convoluting twists within my mind.Seeking out the one I have spent so many hours with. This time consuming one I struggled to give life to andFed and nurtured along the way.I gave my all, my very being my soul to your creation.Yet you are so strange to me for along the way you have changed I no longer feel that you are mine we grow apart and yet I am shackled to you need to shrug you off, you do not please me the hours are lost. You sap my mind, take up my time, I cannot be at peace because of you.You sit like a stone within my within mind taking my up my timeLike a Leech you cling and eat into my very soul and yetI do not like you I want you gone, for you are not the answer to my dream. You sit there mocking, knowing how hard it is for me to let you go.I wanted to write have fame; become self-satisfied with achievement, butI failed and must destroy and empty your space. All that effortI know you think I will lack the courage to bid you gone. But I will be strong, when I am ready I will go in for the kill, put you in a shroudBury you forever and yet, like DNA there will be parts of you that will remain.Your dying breath will float upon the air with elements that can be re-absorbed.Quick, do it now, and with one swift tap you are gone and I feel the pain of your dying.I stare upon the space where once you were with some regret for you were mine,Once you were my friend, I gave birth to you, loved you, but we moved on.

Time now for me to take another journey; to find a truer friend, my idealI must traverse the convoluted paths within my brain to find you, you will be thereI know that somewhere along the path I will stumble upon the idea of you,We will bond, become one. You will be the one I will keep forever, My alter ego my pleasing friend I will be pleased to show. Bring joy to my life, stimulate me with your presence give me what I need.In return I will write you there in my book, within my pages you will live.Others will buy or borrow, to read you and be envious of our success. You will be great my friend, fulfil my needs and be there all my life. You I will devote my time to, succour you, for your very being excites me.I tremble with anticipation, impatient now to make acquaintance with you.Wait for me; please wait for me my friend for I am coming to find you.Together we will journey through this life I will fight for you, guard you in my heartEnvelop this new idea that I have waited long to find. So wait for me, WaitI know that you are in there; I only have to seek, strive and you will burst out.Watch for my coming; wait beside the path, trip me up and grab meFor truly I am coming to find my new idea, my friend my book my fame.
