What is a Podcast ?
Internet audio files that can be listened to on a desktop or downloaded to a digital audio player.
Podcasts are syndicated broadcasts.
Syndication is made possible because of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) code.
Common aggregators help the listener to subscribe and capture the audio file as they are created

Why Podcasting?
I view podcasting as a viable emerging technology that affords us new ways of delivering library-related content. This includes information literacy concepts, marketing of library services, and exploring other ways to collaborate with library stakeholders. .

education. 3rd year in row. Findings reinforce the use of rich media content in
higher education.

ECAR Study Key Findings in 2006
61.3% reported that they owned an electronic music/video device (MP3 player).
Up 22% from 2005.
70.6 % are familiar with downloading sound and video files.
27.7% create or edit audio and/or video files.
