PMP Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR)
2 Philips Excellence Project Management Practice Rev 1
Target AudienceThis slide deck is intended for individuals who currently hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Once you are a PMP Certification holder, you need to adhere to PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program.
You must earn and report the required numbers of PDUs (60) during your three year cycle to remain in good standing. Failure to do so will require you to re-apply and re-take the examination.
PDUs are used to quantify approved learning and professional service activities
1 Hour of activity equals 1 PDU (can be reported in ¼ increments as well)
Also, important updates will be made to the CCR program by PMI beginning 1 December 2015.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I claim PDUs for a single Education activity in more than one skill area of the PMI Talent Triangle?A: Yes. You can claim PDUs for a single Education activity under multiple skill areas (Technical Project Management, Leadership, Strategic and Business Management) of the PMI Talent Triangle. For example: if you read a book for 6 hours that contains 2 hours on techniques for project time management and 4 hours on negotiating with stakeholders, you could claim this Education activity in the skill areas of Technical Project Management [4 hours] and Leadership [2 hours] for a total of 6 hours.
Q: What if I just earned my certification, or I am currently in the first year of my certification cycle?A: You are encouraged to start earning PDUs as soon as you are able. You can claim your PDUs in the current online CCR system. After the CCR program and system updates as of 1 December 2015, continue to earn and claim PDUs, which will be aligned with the PMI Talent Triangle, and all PDUs align with the new minimum/maximum requirements.
