    The aim o the project is to determine the most relevant actors in Gas price ormation within Europe. To thoroughlyaccomplish this, actors infuencing supply and demand must be understood and analyzed to generate an appropriateeconomic model. This project presents a stochastic economic model using historical time series to orecast NaturalGas Prices on short and long-term. Correlated variables are certainly Oil prices, temperature and supply and demandcharacteristics, among others. It also may be o interest to measure the accuracy o this model comparing real data withorecasted data and describe geopolitical implications.Moreover, energy derivatives need to be comprehended in GDF SUEZ Trading activities to hedge and balance energyportolios. From Back Oce Operations & Collaterals there will be an interaction with other departments to gain a better

    SUBATECH is a joint laboratory shared by the EMN (Ecole des Mines de Nantes), the University o Nantes and the CNRS(IN2P3: Institut National de Physique Nucleaire et de Physique des Particules). the research activities o SUBATECHmainly ocus on nuclear physics and chemistry.

    SUBATECH educational activities are perormed at the EMN and at the University o Nantes. At EMN, through the existingengineering ormation NTSE (Nuclear, Technology, Saety, Environment). New ormations are actively being prepared inAdvanced Nuclear Waste Management, Reactor Physics and Technology, Nuclear Saety.My internship subject is ocused on studying the infuence o microorganisms on the corrosion o steel in the context odeep geological disposal o radioactive waste.Batches samples have been prepared in dierent culture conditions, later-on; the results will gure out the steel couponcorrosion rate as a unction o time and temperature which is dier rom sample to another one. Reerence sampleswithout steel are considered.Sulate Reducing Bacteria (SRB), Ionizing radiation, temperature o the radioactive waste and other actors are infuencingand enhancing steel corrosion in the context o deep geological disposal o radioactive waste. This experiment is a parto a huge study is being done by SUBATECH to study all the corrosion causes in order to develop new methods to supportthe radioactive waste packages against expected nuclear leakage under ground which is orbidden since the nuclearcontamination there will destroy so many necessary natural resources and basics o human needs.

    ENERCAP is an Energy and Carbon Strategy Consulting rm based in France. The mission o the company is to aid privateand public entities to dene, implement, and nance their energy and carbon strategies.The project to be developed ocuses on the technical, socio-economic solutions to problems o inadequate power supplyin Sub-Saharan Arica. This will include the review o the current energy status o various countries in the region, meetingsand negotiations with stakeholders and come up with solutions tailored to their needs and available resources.Energy Eciency measures plays an important role in energy issues nowadays. The project will mainly ocus on thedistribution o Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs), replacing Incandescent Lamps in Sub-Saharan Arica, as lightingrepresents up to 40% o total electricity consumption in most countries in the region. The projects will be renancedthrough Carbon Credit revenue generated through the deployment o Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).My role as a consultant during my internship aords me the opportunity to be involved in the phases o projectconception, easibility studies, development and implementation. This includes data gathering and analysis, CO2emissions estimation, development o PIN (Project Idea Note) and PDD (Project Design Document), and ultimatelypresentation o projects to the UNFCCC.

At 70 millions toe which corresponds to 120 million tonnes o CO2 emissions, the building sector is the biggestconsumer o energy across all sectors o the French economy. Thus, improvements in energy eciency in these buildingsare critical to meeting national commitments with regards to reducing greenhouse gases and energy consumption.The tasks involved in this internship are to undertake energy audits on buildings to determine its perormance in terms

    o energy use and more importantly energy losses. A current project is the campus o the University o Maine, France,where around 45 buildings are presently being audited. An assessment is made and major structural and managerialimprovements are identied unique to each o the 45 buildings to implement and improve the overall energy use.Computer simulations using energy modeling sotware are then undertaken to demonstrate the positive eect o therecommended improvements and highlight the corresponding energy/CO2 and nancial benets.
