Don’t miss 2019!April 26-27, April 27-28We are so excited that Jill McGaffigan, one of our long standing, popular workshop leaders is willing to share with us as the keynote speaker!!!

Jill lives with her husband of 37 years in Lakeland, FL. Along with their jobs, they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren and staying involved with their church family at Legacy Christian.

Jill’s passion is to know Jesus better every day and to serve Him in whatever place life takes her. This includes mentoring women, teach-ing Bible Studies, and mission trips to Thailand to offer Christ’s love to women involved in the sex trade as well as the Cambodian refugees. Jill is an author, speaker, and lover of adventure.

Welcome to Lake Aurora Christian Camp, for many of you this is your first time, for others this is a yearly tradition. Our prayer is that you will be able to experi-ence God’s Power in you throughout this retreat and be re-fueled to RUN the race He puts before you!

Each of us are on a path. He has brought you here for a purpose, whether it be to attend a workshop or spend some quiet time in His presence. Try to leave the phone behind as God has called you here.

Schedule the wife of a minister; that was 26 years ago. About 10 years ago I realized that God had put people in my life to show me great examples of what it means to be a minister’s wife. It is no secret that I did not run head on into the role, I felt that I was unworthy, I felt that my teenage years were a bit too wild, I felt that I was not equipped to teach others and I certainly did not fit in the same box that most ministers wives that I had growing up fit in. I have since realized that I don’t have to fit in that same box, that God created me to be me and he has things that I am supposed to do for him.

God has plans for us, if we are truly seeking His plan for our lives then we might have an idea of what the plan is, however, often times we feel that He can’t be speaking to me, he must have me confused with someone else because I cannot do _______________. Just as I told my husband that he married the wrong woman, God knew what he was doing way before I realized that I could fulfill that role. We all have Nineveh’s that we run from…what is yours? If you are unsure ask God he will tell you, then trust Him that He will be there for you when you need Him. Stop running…from God and move towards Him!

“Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

Jonah 3:1-2

Running is not something I enjoy, probably because it causes me to sweat and I certainly don’t like to sweat…when I was in High School, my PE coach wanted me to go out for basketball…I thought about it for a minute, but the first time someone bumped into me and sweat flew on me, I knew I could not do that.

If you are running, you are either run-ning away from something or towards something. When I think of running, the story of Jonah puts it into perspec-tive how we as Christians run from God. God called Jonah to speak to the people of Ninevah, however, he ran in the opposite direction, he didn’t want to speak to “those” people, they did not deserve God’s favor. After his trip in the belly of a big fish, God gave him a second chance. Jonah 3:1-2,

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.” Jonah went and God gave him the message…it wasn’t 30 minutes long it was one sentence…and the people of Nineveh turned towards God. Often times we hear God asking us to do something for Him and we say, “I can’t do that…I’m not a good speaker, they won’t listen to me or I don’t know how to do…” What we fail to realize is that if God asks us to do something he is going to give us the ability to make it happen.

When my husband informed me that he wanted to return to college to become a minister, I told him, that he married the wrong woman to be

Coaching Each Other Along James/John (Hillside) Jill McGaffiganThere is no question that Jesus intended for the church to live in community. This has deep meaning and absolutely di-rects us to invest our time and energy into the individuals with whom we worship. This workshop will explore the specific methods outlined in Scripture that are intended to encourage one another as we grow into the likeness of Christ Jesus. Mentoring is an incredible responsibility but does not need to be overwhelming or cumbersome but rather a simple walk alongside another as we use our unique God-given gifts. Come and join us!

Knocked Off Course Hillside Steel Tent (Near office) Donna Graham“Oh the places you’ll go!” (from Dr. Suess) It’s a book given to many graduates. You had great plans for your future, big dreams to go for, God’s blessings to bless you, and you will succeed! Then life happens. Ouch! “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”, you may feel like saying. Oh yes you can! Come on over and share some unique, even comical ways to get up and go again!!

Running in the Wrong Direction Quail’s Roost Shelter (Lakeside) Amanda HerdrickWhat do we do about times when we do not feel qualified to do God’s work but we know we need to accept his leading and follow his will? In this session, we will be identifying some key reasons why we resist (fear of failure, fear of responsibility, our insecurities) and then look at some tools to help remind us of our identity in Christ. We will learn about the Enneagram, an ancient body of wisdom that helps us identify how we are wired and explores its connections with Christian spirituality for a deeper knowledge of God and ourselves.

Focus on the Finish Blue Heron Shelter (Hillside) Deedy TrippHow easily distracted we get! Face it - life is crazy, and at times it’s almost impossible to keep our focus where it needs to be. Women are known for being able to multi-talk, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. How do we do all the things we need to do, and keep our focus on God? Join Deedy in discovering through scripture ways to battle the distractions of life, and learn how to focus on the things that really matter.

Running in the Fast Lane Lakeside Steel Tent Wendy FitzgeraldSociety, even within Christian circles, tells us that “polish” is essential for success. In an effort to look like we have it all together we often find ourselves trying to juggle more “good things” than our calendar can handle. How do you decide what to do and what to let go? If you find yourself wishing you could live someone else’s life, you are not alone! If you feel like strength to get through the day evades you, you are in good company! Ironically, some of the biggest success stories in Scripture come from the weakest characters. Join us as we look at Scripture through the lens of balance and discover how weakness might just be your greatest strength!
